OSG-34: Rollin' with the Rocks

If the invasion force was sent before peace were declared it will still invade. As we all know once an invasion is launched there is no way to stop it (without Hyperspace Communications on the part of the player of course; with the AI that die is cast). But the AI will stop sending invasions once the war is over even if the fleet is still in orbit.

Wow, I just found this site and this writeup is amazing! I literally spent the last few nights reading the entire thing -- great for enhancing my understanding and skill at MOO1. I'm so pumped that now I'm off to try my skills at Imperium 46.

Welcome, jello! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Good luck with Imperium 46 - I'd love to hear how the game goes for you! (In as much or as little detail as you like, win or lose. We love reading game reports around here, as you can probably tell!)

I too just spent a good chunk of the day reading this thread, having found it after randomly clicking around RB in social distancing-induced boredom. Thrilling and easy to follow, despite my having zero experience with the game! Any similar threads to peruse?

I'm glad you enjoyed the read! I don't remember any that went quite like this, and (as with so many other threads) many of the older threads' pictures may be lost, but here are a few anyway:

OSG-33: The Beautiful Brains was the most-recent MoO succession game before this one (I wasn't among the players, but Ianus was).

Before that, we had a large group of players who split up to take on the same map in parallel SGs:

OSG 32-A: Two games with one bird and
OSG 32-B: Two birds with one game. (If you're partial to my in-character reports, I was in group B).

Before that, we had
OSG-31: Land of the Lounge Lizards
and OSG 30 - It's just a number, nothing to worry about though I didn't get to participate in those.

But if you want to learn a lot about the game and see some silly in-character reports, you might try OSG 29B - The Socially-Awkward Diplomats - another case where we split into two teams, each taking on the same map, including brilliant, clear, and detailed strategic commentary from Thrawn. Oh, and the other team? OSG 29A - The Charismatic Introverts featured not only Ianus, but also Sullla himself!

(And there are more, with ever fewer working pictures as you go back in time....)

And if anyone is interested we could always get a new game together...
I’ve been feeling sad at how quiet things have gotten here lately. I don’t know about anyone else but I find myself with some spare time at the moment. Granted I haven’t played any high level MoO in more than a year at this point, but any interested players could either brush up their skills or learn some new tricks as the case may be. Anyone up for a game? I know Sullla is on a break from Octopath Traveler...

My time availability is actually pretty limited still, but I think I can fit in some MoO SG turn-sets, sure! (Just not in the next few days....)

My skill at has rotted to the point where I struggle as Human on Hard, but if you're willing to take the risk, I could try to raise my game again ...

I was thinking of a "Social Distancing" theme as Darloks with no diplomacy/spy usage allowed. Maybe on Hard? Or I'm open to just about anything if that doesn't sound like fun. It has been way too long since I've played a real game!

I'd certainly lurk this with great interest!
