Might need a short pause this turn.

Is there a list of what resource for resource trades signify on here? I worked out from context that fish for fish means something like "let's be good neighbors" but I don't know the etiquette beyond that.

Resource trades are pretty much whatever the offerer and the receiver think they mean. Iron for iron might mean "let's be military allies", might mean "I don't sword you, you don't sword me", or might mean "I want to hide my iron availability on the trade screen from this third party". It's anyone's guess.

As Commodore said, it's up to interpretation. But a couple things are standard-ish.
fish<>fish (or any other food/food, with a preference to something you both have already) has a history of meaning peaceful intentions. Clam<>Crab might mean "lets be friends" or it might just be a health trade so I can grow my cities taller so I can get more whips off to kill you with. copper/copper (or similar) generally means war allies. But we added "attack X" in the diplo screen, same as you'd ask an AI, so that may fade away. We banned the fancy stuff like iron+horse+8gold followed by iron+horse+7gold the next turn, and so on, which may mean something like "I'm attacking with Knights in 8 turns". It's also traditional to decline the offer and reply with the same offer (and the other guy will also decline). You both know the offer was made, but it doesn't show in the diplo screen to other players. Of course accepting the deal has its own benefits. You demonstrate your alliance, however shaky it may be, to your other neighbors. Suckering your neighbor with fish<>fish and then attacking him is perfectly legal. Just be aware that if he (or you) report the deal in their thread, others will know it happened - either immediately for lurkers, or when the game ends and the other players are allowed. So if you backstab like that, you may develop a reputation. Especially if you don't explain why you are breaking the deal to their satisfaction. Or at least what you interpreted the deal to mean, which didn't mean the same thing to the other guy. If someone offers furs+cow+copper for furs+sheep+copper, who knows what they are thinking? Maybe they are telling you they are having a Barbeque on Saturday and you are invited. Maybe they are telling you they are building the Golden Calf wonder and not to waste your trees. Maybe they decided that's the secret code for "you should build more Spears (hunting+copper=spears?) in your Cow city, your other neighbor is stacking HAs near it that I can see but you can't". Maybe they want to be war buddies, and both target the guy with all the Furs in his land, with you attacking his sheep city, and him attacking the cow city.
Furs/cow/copper for same OBVIOUSLY means that its a fancy steak dinner on the copper grill tonight.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Has Metra asked for a pause? There is still 4 hours in clock but in case he can't make it could some kind lurker play his turn if he has left his password in thread?
Sorry guys, went out for a couple of drinks with friends, but things got wild and 24 hours later is the first moment I can move elsewhere from the bed-WC route. Playing turn now.

Hey Elkad, for whatever reason the hosts file things *and* the different .exe don't work for me...I can't log in when someone else is in.
