Can't Remember Book Name [SOLVED]

I am looking for the name of a book / series about interstellar travel, war, aliens and genocide.

The main interesting point(s) in this series is that a certain space navel commander gets critical premonitions before a space battle (and other events) and acts on those premonitions ... thus avoiding tragedy.  Naturally, he gets promoted and gets involve in fighting bigger battles.  They encounter other alien races and in some timelines, the human population is eradicated via a virus while in another, the human planets are destroyed.  The humans develop AI fighters which help win some battles ... and then they invent time travel.

In one time line, the humans are all killed and an AI spaceship flips back in time (to yet another time line) and helps that timelines humans survive.

Anyone know the name of this book / series?

Sniff.  No.  The navy guy was Captain Someone.  Not very useful.

"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

I also have a book/series im trying to find... Spoilers so i dont derail your thread:

All i can remember is its at least one book, possibly a series where one of the main characters uses a sword of some kind. The only memorable part of the book i can remember is that he is suppose to be teaching newer students ( he is a student i think as well.. ) how to swordfight and his supposed bestfriend is his opponent. His bestfriend eventually starts to fight for real/to injure and he is forced to defend himself. Turns out the teacher/person was wanting to prove that the MC was still good at using a sword.

I remember the character's name being Bart/ Barthemellow? i cannot for the life of me find this damn book.

I remember two stories with swordsman. One involved a guy that got the nickname two swords ... because he use to fight using two swords. I can't remember the name of that book ... but no loss as it was horrible.

The other was a series ... started at a training camp in the cold tundra / ice. I don't remember the name.
