I did not look at the old map, but I would have guessed exactly, what you have guessed.

This game stresses me out.
I worry about the axe rush. My response to that possibility is to bury my head in the sand like an ostrich. But even if Ziankali doesn't kill me in the short term with axes, I worry about facing Joao long term with this kind of land. I need to get a scout to my East to find my rivers. (Note Joao's 2 6food tiles to my 2 5f tiles. Perhaps this is balanced by my crab, but that takes 100hammers to get to 5f and a tech I'm not going to research until t120.) I'm a bit nervous.

Is this your low key way of saying you're planning an engineering lightbulb?

Sorry, my GPP are all going into the Jewish shrine. There wasn't any point talking long term strategy with the threat of axes looming, but I desperately want to land Judaism. With 52 players, there's no guarantee I would get a passive religion spread from somewhere, and Spiritual feels bad about missing religion. Plus, one of Spiritual's benefits is an early Org. Rel., which requires religion. So long as the two players who land Buddhism and Hinduism don't continue on to Monotheism, I think I have a decent shot at it. (If land quality is roughly equal. I currently will have a grand total of 1 river cottage.) It slows me down, and I'm starting next to Joao, but Polytheism/Monotheism are on the way to Monarchy (for HR + Guilds) and Code of Laws (for Sacrificial Altars), so it'd be nice if I got a benefit out of those techs besides prerequisites for other things. Overly serious answer, I know.

Ooo. I like that. Plus I have the forests for it.
Interesting bit of trivia about this game: Polytheism has fallen but Buddhism has not (unless somehow it didn't show up on the event log). The Spanish got Hinduism. I checked who the Myst civs were forever ago, but I can't be bothered to check right now. It's possible everyone was scared off religions by the Isabella player. That would blow my mind. The worst case for me is that someone was going for Hinduism but the Spanish beat them to the tech via fishing commerce. (The race wasn't close enough for a coin flip.) If that happened, there's a chance that the person who invested in Polytheism doubles down by going for Monotheism.
If people are ignoring the religion line, Oracle is more open, but competing with better civs like Spain for it, especially with my trash techs, is not likely.

Not really.
I'll move my warrior to the hill next to him once the lion is gone. The scout needs to check out the East now. I need to review my plan because it's been months since I made it.

Free XP or crippling defeat?
There's a bear somewhere. Hope he stays away.
I was working on my sim this morning, and man, I forgot how gross this start is. Maybe I just missed some line of play, but I've had to do horrific things: delayed a worker 1 turn so I won't be 1 beaker short of Bronze Working; put three turns into a grassland farm that won't be complete until after I mine both the silver and the pigs; the settler delays settling for a turn just so I don't risk stranding Copper until my third city. It's not that I think the land is bad. (Really, blame Montezuma of the Aztecs.) It's more that nothing feels smooth. Nothing clicks.

Killed the lion, but the animal kingdom had its revenge.
I just moved the worker to the pigs. Obviously, the hill used up all the worker's movement. I then pressed the "Mine" button. It looks like the worker will remember the command, but I worry because I've definitely had a unit forget its ordersthe next turn if it hasn't already started.
I ask because I'm going to be civ-less for the next three days. This should only be 1 turn at our pace, but it would be annoying if my micro got screwed up for it. Could a lurker log in and check that the worker is mining? Now that the scout is dead, that's literally the only thing that needs doing.
