Pokemon (7) would have been fun, since all of our words save Piano fit to various degrees, but I'd have assuredly steered us into some combination of Rose, Snow, Saturn, and Pin along the way, so keeping it limited to the most obvious three was the best play.

Since I have nine words, I assume we're first.

I agree that Cheap could have been a 4 word clue as NOVEL, LEMON, PIN and CHOCOLATE are pretty similar and there aren`t really many dangerous words around. I thought that cluing Kevlar for 4 words would be way too dangerous as HOLE was the assassin and it was very likely going to be considered an option by the team. Maybe I`d have gone for 4 if there had been a different black word.

Three turns is difficult, but here's how I'd attack it:
Medevac 3 (for HELICOPTER, ORGAN, and PARACHUTE)
Entenmann 3 (for CHOCOLATE, LEMON, and SQUARE)
Lockpick 3 (for PIN, TRUNK, and NOVEL, though that's a damn stretch).
Um, I don`t know those words. Surely, Medevac has something to do with medic aid but the others must be pretty obscure.

Cheapest rather than cheap? Although that would risked driving me, at least, to look for adjectives rather than nouns.
And I'm still not getting the SQUARE-Grocer link.
Just glad that I wasn't completely wrong about Kevlar being used in parachutes.
Don`t worry, it`s a lot of fun being a spymaster. Things can always go terribly wrong but that`s just part of the game.

I thought that Grocer might point to the fact that you find those in cities (and perhaps in the city center). It`s not obvious by any means, though.

Sorry JR4. Maybe instead of grocer unlimited you could aimed directly for CHOCOLATE/SQUARE with something like Cadbury 2? Lemon was our +1 guess for Cheap at the time and I would've pushed for that, leaving the Heli/Parachute pair for the last clue. EDIT: Thinking back there was no guarantee that you would get the 4th turn, so this probably wouldn't be practical without hindsight.
Yes, you were right about those clues several times, well done. Maybe I should have concentrated on SQUARE in the first clue, just to get rid of it asap. Cadbury is one option. It`s a tricky word to clue. Out of principle I`ll always try to clear the board in three turns when going first as the other spymaster only has to get 8 correct words and four rounds leaves too much to chance.

Maybe:
CLANCY 3 (NOVEL, HELICOPTER, PARACHUTE)
STOMACH 4 (ORGAN, CHOCOLATE, LEMON, TRUNK)
NUMBER 2 (PIN, SQUARE)
?
And yeah, the lurker thread is safe (IMO).
This is a good way of clearing the board quickly. Stomach 4 would likely have gotten all four words imo. I actually thought about cluing something like Stalingrad or Siege unlimited instead of Grocer but that would likely run into HOLE which was the assassin.

Okay, we're close to unanimous on the following:
Point to Mine
Point to China
Point to King
I see the Park connection, but prefer Cliff as being more direct; I'm fairly certain mining cliffs for coal is a thing, and even if it isn't many of the mechanisms of mining coal will leave cliffs behind. Given that 3/4 of us prefer it, I suggest we point to it next, barring the unexpected.
