Forests in the core this far into the game??

I haven't simmed the upcoming seige. (I'm just a sub, gently leading this civ to its grave.) But at a glance, it's going to be very close.

There's also an axe and a spear on the galley 1 turn away. Gav can attack the turn after next with 5 swords, 3 elephants, and 11 horse archers (I didn't miscount). One of those horses is at 0.5 health so hopefully it's negligible. Against these 19 units, I'll have 17: 3 axes, 1 archer, and 13 spears. This assumes he doesn't attack my worker stack on the sheep or tries to block the tile 1E of Prague. If does either, I get to hit those units with more spears from the capital, so that's fine.

The strategy is to abandon everything else except the shrine city. It's generating 38 gold per turn and is our Moai. It's going to be quiet the roll of the dice next turn. (Gav's next turn. He plays second.) Ohdear

And the forest that was 1N of Prague was chopped under fire by brave suicide workers for this overflow:

This will queue upgrade upon researching Feudalism, right? Right? please If so, that's about to become a Landsknecht. I hadn't checked the mod notes for this game, so I didn't realize Holy Rome gets a longbow with +50% against mounted. A few of those would have stuffed this invasion. We'll see how many we can build.

I already laid out the numbers for Gav's attack. Here's the overview. Ignore the copious reinforcements streaming in from the west.

If Prague could hold, we could start pumping out super Longbows which would give Gav some trouble. I've only seen one catapult of his.

(But I had planned on this civ dying soon. Three pitbosses is too many.)

No time for a report, but here's a public service announcement: archers do not queue upgrade into longbows upon researching Feudalism. bang

I think we've survived the first round.

Gav took our former capital of Aachen at the cost of 4 horses for 2 of our spears. I think this means that he is unlikely to take Prague next turn. We can now start producing lots of Landsknechts, which shrug off everything Gav can build. He'd need a catapult stack to get through, and I've only seen one or two.

Didn't take a picture of Gav's navy which is about to destroy ours and leave our islands open for the taking. The plan from the beginning has always been to give up everything but the shrine city. So be it.

Thanks, Dreylin, for offering to take this on for a bit.

I don't have any recent relevant pictures pictures, so I'll try to be clear. Sorry.

We have two islands. Gavagai (Yellow to the North) will try to take them eventually but I don't know when. If he sends ships we can kill, please kill them. If he sends ships we can't kill, whip triremes? I don't know. If he doesn't send ships at all, just press end turn, I guess. It sounds like there's choices to be made, but I don't think there will be any.

Thanks very much again.

Played. Accepted a health trade from AT. Also whipped some stuff.

Bunch of Triremes streaming in from West of Pisa. Rearranged the defense lines to prevent a Galley attack this turn but may need to pull out of Pisa back to the other island.

Pulled out of Pisa bringing the stack back to the main island.

Thanks for that. I logged in, not realizing you had played 10 minutes before. Between you and me, I think Holy Rome is doomed. shhh
