I also prefer Tie and Wind, the first two to occur to me; granted, Knot would have worked better, but the nautical connotation may not have occurred to SD. It's also possible the Wind is a Water word; it's a little suspicious that we didn't get a 3 clue, with Park as our +1. Either means SD couldn't see any possible way to clue Tie + two other words, or we need to re-think Park.

WIND occurred to me (you have to wind up a crossbow) but seemed more indirect than STAR, unless I'm missing some other implication (windage compensation in aiming your arrow? Again, a stretch in my mind). I admit I had to think a long time to come up with STAR, but I rejected WIND several times along the way. Bow is a dangerous clue because it has lots of meanings: the knot you tie to keep your shoes tight (and several other types of knot), bending at the waist, a limb of a tree, a weapon that fires arrows.

I'm not super happy with STAR, but need some convincing on why WIND is a good answer. What exactly does it have to do with a bow and arrow?

Alternate clues for WIND and TIE: Maypole, Kite.

An arrow fired from a bow will be affected by WIND, which is the only definition I could find from the Bow & Arrow definition. Granted, that is weak logic but STAR seems just as weak if not moreso. I'm not sure what a Maypole is but giving Kite as a clue would strongly link to PARK. Bob seems to have picked up a nautical reference for using WIND, although I'm not sure I follow that logic myself.

Since we're fairly lost for the second Bow word, I say we go PARK next for the +1 and decide the 2nd Bow word after that.

Nectarine is HONEY/PIT?
HONEY - The fruit is sweet as honey/nectar, hence the name.
PIT - Nectarines have pits.

The only other connection I see is KIWI, another fruit.
But KIWI/PIT could simply be clued by Fruit.
KIWI/HONEY is harder, but something like Pollinate would avoid PIT?

Our final word is presumably MINT.

There is also such a thing as STAR fruit, I believe, although it's more obscure.

Ooh - would you refer to the stone/seed in a Nectarine as its PIT? It's not something I would say, but it's ringing a bell.

Also, could two short (2) clues in a row be an attempt to signal that we've got exactly one word left from the first category (Expensive)? IIRC, consensus after last round was that using "unlimited" to signal a single missed word was a technical rules violation.
