Let's start here:

Point to CONTRACT

So, if that's blue, what would be the two words to make Dave connect them with Telescope, remembering that CONTRACT has the secondary meaning of a legal agreement.

CONTRACT-COMPOUND. Some kind of shrinking chemical?
CONTRACT-SCREEN. I can see this one for Telescope.
CONTRACT-PARK. Again, I can't help thinking that there's some famous telescope in a named park, though I might also be thinking of Mount Palomar.

I think there must be some overlap between the Telescope and Phantom words, because I don't think FOREST is the third Phantom word. So I can see either CONTRACT or PARK being a Telescope word, but not both, because neither of them relate to Phantom either. Which means I lean SCREEN.

BAR - could be a sand bar, is it part of a gun?
Black HELICOPTERS seem fairly sure
ENGLAND famously doesn't have many guns
GRASS generally isn't black or sandy, is gun GRASS a thing?
PARK has a sandbox in, so surely not what we're after
SCREEN could be black, but more usually blue
Is it true that you have to take your gun to CHURCH for safety in the US nowadays?
I think you're unlikely to SLIP on sand

Needing to make up three words and get two new ones I want to assume we were on the right track before and so Gun points to two words. That would then make:

Black: Screen

Sand: Compound and Bar

Gun: Helicopter and Glove

My concern is that if Screen is red then Joystick seems like it still get Glove and Helicopter and confirms Screen. Hopefully someone else can make better sense of things, but right now I lean towards Bar first.

So we have to guess 1 black word, 2 sand word, 2 gun word.

HELICOPTER for gun + black? Guns can be mounted on HELICOPTER, and I think it's equally probable that superdeath didn't see black helicopter connection or he made 'gun' clue to direct us away from screen.

I'm more inclined to guess the latter and still guess SCREEN as last black word because 'black helicopter' feels esoteric to me, and seems like cultural terminology such as black forest. Black screen is bit more ubiquitous in its association. I'm willing to guess it much later since it's strong blue word candidate though.

Last gun word is super dubious...
- Guns can be COMPOUNDed, and they use COMPOUND.
- You can SLIP the gun out when firing?

BAR and COMPOUND is still strong sand word, and guessing BAR first is probably better since it's another blue word candidate.

So my preferred order is: HELICOPTER -> BAR -> COMPOUND -> SLIP -> SCREEN

We probably need to win on this very turn so here goes:

HELICOPTER is a safe (?) bet. I also like GLOVE for the second gun word as at least it`s somewhat connected to murderers (to leave no trace). 

The rest of the words are.. not exactly straightforward. I can see SCREEN  as one of the remaining Black words and then perhaps COMPOUND for Sand. And then we still need another word to get over the line. Um, I`m unsure. It looks like I`m outvoted on BAR. Are you okay with COMPOUND next (assuming our two first guesses are right)?

I thought about it, and I'd rather hit second gun word next (either SLIP or GLOVE). If we need to win, the order of words don't matter. Guessing second gun word next keeps compound and screen alive to confuse the blue team should the worst case occur. In contrast, even if we hit compound and screen first and they happen to be correct, their success won't improve our chance of guessing final gun word at all.

I agree with that rationale about going for the Gun word next. None of the words are amazing but I like Glove most.
