RP Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Darius I of the Holy Roman Empire

Athlete offered us his money, so I think we should try to go for Economics first. Maybe running a few scientists will help get it in 1-2 turns.

We can send the GM to the Ottomans for cash or use him in another way.
India, as you can see from the earlier screenshot, is almost out of money.
They have been doing some whipping. I wonder what that is.

Will you send India a mail about the EP's?
We could also try to get some sort of advantage from India for not racing them to Eco. Like a "stay out of our wars" pact or something, but I don't see that happening.

Banking founded, we could do Economics in 2t but need 1t of cash or more money. But India is on Theology, so I parked us at Replacable Parts and 0% science.

If we do get money from Athlete and Whosit (they got ~200g total) can go 1t 100% for Eco and finish in 2t. We do need 0% then but can send the GM to Atlete for cash. I do think that that's a good option. Will help us tech a lot during the rest of the GA.

Here's Carse. Hired one GS and we can hire 3 more next turn (after growth) to speed up a GP there:

Krondor, would be great if we get an Engineer from there eventually.

Nortwarden, Great Artist hired for border pop in 3t to get the Stone connected. Land's End will finish a Theatre in 3t and can start Maoi then.
Also, please note the power of Rathauses!

And Christianity founded by Korea:

DMOC, let's see if we can end the turn to know what India will do with their research. :neenernee

Loving the updates guys, thanks.

Good job on assigning the artist to Northwarden. I imagine ottomans will get it first anyway so we may have to ask him to gift us.

By the way, have you noticed the combat log? Athlete's somehow lost cities to slaze again?

This is really making our run to Rifling a necessity.

I imagine that if we can get 2 great merchants, one goes for a golden age and 1 goes for a cash bonus?

I'll check in the game later tonight to see what's up. smile

Look into our mail to see how the war is going for Athlete.
We really need to find new allies.
Do you have the time to tell India we're going to spend EP's on them again? Then I'll try to sweettalk to Korea...

Sorry - don't have time to check the game tonight after all. frown

I was thinking it might be best to just put espionage points on Dantski. I think we want to stay clear from India for now.

No problem!

India started a Golden Age. And got another Artist!
Whosit is eliminated.

Turn played mostly. Not much happening.
I asked for some more gold from Athlete to finish Economics this turn. We need to run some Scientists to make that happen, but I think we can manage.

EDIT: Hired a lot of scientists who need to be fired again next turn, so we'll get Economics next turn at -88gpt. We've got 12 in the bank and I requested 100 from Athlete, so we should be fine. Let's send the first GM to Athlete (Galley's are almost in place for a swift crossing) to get cash and use the second one to extend our GA.

Just had to laugh when I saw this:

Apparently we will always have control of that tile, due to culture rules. I had a little misunderstanding there, but everything's fine right now. The theatre is still good because of the Globe Theatre requirement.

Little nitpicking - more workers improving by Sethanon rather than Yabon? Well I guess Yabon will have to survive. We are losing the cultural battle for that extra mine to Korea ... perhaps hiring another artist is in order once the barracks is finished?

India has 3 knights defending a worker by Dantski. Why?? Hm ...

Lastly ... do you think it might actually be best for us to found a city on the tundra tile to the right of where our city is designated? Then we wouldn't have to worry about culturally fighting Dantski. But then again, we'd probably win the food due to caste system artist + confucian missionary. The worker on the same tile as the settler should road first to aid in movement.

Short update...
We got Economics, but India rushed AP and is going for Const - Dem.
Guess they aim for a culture or AP win.

^No way. They've got the technological and military advantage over the Ottomans (or Romali ... but I'm pretty sure they're targeting the Ottomans). As such I really think that athlete is the next target for India and India will aim for a domination win. AP is probably out of reach judging by the religious distribution on the map - but I'd have to double check to verify my theory.

Anyway ... the turn ....

1. Athlete's city beat us to the stone - we need to request it from him to get the Moai (he did say he would lend us the stone). I've requested already.

2. Looks like I was wrong about the fish thing. Oh well. cry

3. Looking at La Mut - I believe it's best to workshop the tile that is south of where the worker is right now (on the farm). I put a sign up as a reminder.

4. Crydee is losing culture to Gao - but gets a border pop next turn! Yes! :D

5. Do we still want to run scientists in Carse? Or should we let the city grow more? The rice is done next turn so I definitely think we should move a scientist off and into the fields.

6. Little Nitpick - which tile should Ylith be working instead of the 2f 2h forest it's on now? wink I've changed it.

Tech for this turn.
