Indeed... the French people suddently go on strike because of an unnotified abscence of report. ![protest protest](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/protest.gif)
It's amazing you guys get anything done.

I've only played two turns and there's not much to report. Only some slightly interesting tactics. DS will rue not having settled a city in this region and chopping the forests. This also shows why it was a good idea to pillage the roaded forest 1W of the horse earlier.
I've got 2 workers that will complete a road on the second silk next turn, upon which my knights can get in range of multiple cities with just one turn of movement (includes Porto Novo). And being on defensive terrain it's hard for him to do anything about it. My eyes are mainly set on Lagos which is located just outside of view of the image to the north. It's guarded by a single longbow right now. Also worth noting that Catfish expands its borders end of turn.
DS currently has all his knights in Porto Novo, so if he doesn't pay attention he will not even be in striking range of the selected hill. Either way this tactical opportunity will be a headache for him the next turns.
Considering launching a GA to get to corporation sooner (Wall Street and +1 trade routes). Will sleep on it. Gut feeling is that it's not worth it. Doesn't save many turns and I will have much more population some turns into the future. Later on I can also sync the golden age with free speech and universal suffrage.
I wouldn't say the war is at a stalemate just yet, but I'm not that upset about it slowing down. I mainly started this war to tank DS' game and secure the land for myself long term. That's why I'm completely fine with razing cities. So far it's gone okay. I'm also hoping that Commodore will join in to help things, but there's no guarantee on that. If I get impatient there's drafting -- his knights struggle against rifles, even with siege.
