Our scout reports back great news: we found gold! The deposit lies next to a lake near the recently discovered clams/ivory.
Now I am tempted to go further south to check for more food in order to feed the miners. Prolly going S -> SW on the gold. Then W -> NW on turn 5. Will prolly start dotmapping the coast then...
Going back and forth with the micro... I guess I have some more turns to make up my mind (till t10 exactly, I will prolly change my mind half a dozen times ) but here is an approach I find cool and potentially efficient (comments/whips welcome)
worker done T10 -> start growing on a warrior; worker pastures the pig then mine the riverside grassland hill.
warrior completes, we starts on 2nd worker
Once the hill is mined, the first worker starts chopping the southern forest, it will finish just as the city finishes the 2nd worker, overflowing on the first settler.
Both worker move on forests to chop the settler
warrior queued to grow size 3, both workers move to improve another hill which will be done as the city grows.
Once this is done, work starts on the second settler.
The workers move to chop the remaining capital forests to help completion
One worker goes to road the pig in order to shave one turn to the southern city settling, other one heads north to improve the sheep.
t35, the 2nd settler is in place to settle.
I switch in slavery t35 to start whipping workboat and granaries.
With this set up I was able to build SH in 2040 bc in capital and the Oracle in 1880bc in the southern city. By 1800 bc I have two other settlers underway, all clams up and another worker.
Honnestly I like this micro but I feel the wonders are too much costly at this point. I could be up to 5 cities by 2000bc if I skip them.
Another possibility with this micro (aka chopping all capital forests for workers/settlers), is to settle north of the forested ivory. If I count right there are also 4 forests there and one riverside grassland hill for Oracle build. And it will also be connected at settling without roads nor sailing (like the 2 cities I settled)

This is the answer. You're focusing way too much on these wonders. Expand first and then build the Oracle and SH. There is no need to complete them this early. You're not playing deity level against AIs.
Keeping capital at size 2 for so long is also a little suspicious.

Yeah, it's outside of my usual play but I am getting totally obssesed by settler/wonder timing. I will post another build later today hopefully.

edit: forgot to deliver the soundtrack! here is one of my favorite then...
Meanwhile, below is today scouting screenie.
Nothing much to report but more green lands. There are prolly food ressources west of that river but I feel i have ventured south for enough time and I would rather get up north now to clear The evidence surrounding fog (would hate to miss nearby copper for instance). I am thinking either W -> NW or N -> NW next. Prolly the later to allow more fog clearing over the next 2 turns.
Here are the current demographics:
Dead last on food/gnp getting that additional hammer for worker production has some cost... Everyone but me is working 3f1c/2f1h1c tile (19 gnp is Cathy - funny thing in this mod, espionnage points but the ones from the palace are turned into culture... maybe it's also the case in vanilla bts, it's just the first time I play with espionnage off) As the turn rolled, every civ got a +6 score increase but me... I am already falling behind in techs
hehe
I will wait for some reply on the game thread before playing. Also I didn't want to play twice in row (I'd rather not take bad habits to prepare for later war turns )

Mod thingy? I checked ingame and the "no espionage" setting isn't ON, but the espionage screen doesn't report any points being produced like it does in a normal game.
Actually I hadn't checked before you spoke about it and was under this assumption from the pregame thread.
So first the fact that under the "no espionage" game option espionage points are not converted to culture etc. was a bug in the original game and fixed in RtR a long time ago.
Also you haven't met anyone, so no espionage points can be created. You need to meet at least one player to generate espionage points.
I will still investigate the espionage thing. It sounds fishy. Could be a bug.
I'd probably go to the plains hill with the scout and then most likely turn back to the hill 2NW of it the turn after. I think you've got time because animals are harmless in this mod. Won't have to stop and heal any time soon.
In general you should try to play twice when you can to speed up the game, but it's alright to wait if you want to discuss something first.

Tx for the info.
I expected the no espionnage option to be selected but the rules actually say "no spys"... So I guess we will have to manage our EPs to get graphs and techs/cities visibility then? and no bonus culture?
