I assigned everyone's starting techs manually, based on the 4.1.1.6 changelong:

But I seem to recall there were multiple issues with Native America in PB46 not matching the changelog too, including starting techs and the tech prereq(s?) for totem poles (whether hand-built or tracker-dropped). It's possible that was never updated, which would mean a test game and changelog might disagree, especially if the test game were made using the mod under which PB46 was actually played. Is that what's going on here?

Now that you jogged my memory, this bug mod is based off of the 4.1.1.6.. which would give NA the normal fishing/agri

Fishing/Agriculture seems correct. (fwiw, I am OK to let you last minute change your civ if you got it wrong)
according to the last changelog i can see for RTR... its suppose to be hunting/agriculture? Let me check again..
The 4.1.1.6 notes list Fishing/Agri, so it's working as intended. Fwiw I'm also fine with just changing your fishing tech to hunting if you counted on that.

Okay, yeah. I just reread the relevant portion of the PB46 signup thread, and it looks the changelog and mod have disagreed about Native America since before that game started. I also checked the (current) mod being used for this game, and in spite of the changelog, it does give Native America Agriculture/Hunting, not Agriculture/Fishing (as Ruff_Hi also just confirmed). So either the changelog is incorrect or the mod is, which is annoying to say the least. Note also that the changelog makes no mention of the fact that the prereq tech for Totem Poles is Archery, not Myst, but this change has also been made in the mod!
Point being: There's definitely a bug here! Well spotted, Ruff! In that thread, Krill states, "given consideration this is a test game, can we just give Elkad the choice of what he has now, or what the change log says he should have."
So, we may as well go with that. Ruff, if you want your techs changed, please just PM Ramkhamhaeng and let him know.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience with Native Americans. Yes, RtR_4.1.1.6 messed this up in the past and 4.1.1.7 should have fixed that. As Krill wrote in his 4.1.1.7 thread:

Reasons for changes:
Native America: this is what it should have been before, I screwed it up for PB46, with Totem poles on Archery and closer than on Mysticism.
But as you all may know, Krill is gone for now and I don't know when or if he's coming back. That's why this 4.1.1.7 was hanging in limbo. I too forgot about this confusion. Sorry for that.
After these test games I will merge my BUG changes back to normal RtR and with that I will implement what Krill intended with 4.1.1.7 to avoid any more confusion in the future.

Ruff, are you aware of this or is it going to be a problem? (Also out of interest, can the trackers still build totem poles even if the prereq tech hasn't been researched?)
