Gavagai's revenge

The baseline for this is the thread completely barren of any posts, it is not difficult to be more entertaining than that. I made a decision - I will go after Pindicator. This game is about Gavagai's revenge and while I have no business with AT, Pindicator still has a betrayal to answer for. Didn't even think in that direction until he settled this city, I hope, he will found it was worth it.

PB38 though I don't want people to check it out. It was the second most humiliating game I played here.

2nd most?

In PB20 Mackoti eliminated me very early in the game. I am not sure though, whether it was really better or worse than the shitshow which PB38 has been.

I think getting eliminated by mack even early wouldnt be that bad.

I reread a bit of my PB38 thread, it reminded me how much I am pissed at Commodore. Also, it is really a shame that Plako is no longer with us. He was such a good player, outplayed me pretty thoroughly in that game.

Well, I log in and discover that these units got upgraded into a Mace and a Longbow respectively. The guy is in the middle of elimination war and he just throws away 230 gold to save a city in the middle of fucking nowhere with zero strategic importance for his civ. Really, it pisses me off to no end when people do that kind of bullshit just to screw me over. The funny thing - it would only work if he spawns a Privateer in the city right next turn (which would be bullshit in itself as he did not slave and the city only produces 7 hammers). Otherwise, I will have 8 swords ready to attack next turn, the city will fall, Mace or not. Strictly speaking, the city will fall whatever he does, if not now, then ten turns later, when I come back with a new army.

OK, then, I am officially out for this guy's blood. This workboat? I did not want to kill, now I will. Hope, it was going for circumnav. Also, this island?

If you want a bit of context it's that I actually had the gold to spare while still being able to get a very important military tech that same turn and any other tech that would be useful for fighting Pindicator was miles away otherwise I wouldn't have upgraded those units. I also figured it would be a nice city to have saved later since it means I could prolong the war with Pindicator for a while even if it got to the clean up stage for him.

Basic assumption I made was is 230 gold worth being able to make 5-7 units in the long term? I figured yes if I could keep the city but keeping the city even in that case is probably too shortsighted.

Also the OB's for gold wasn't because needed gold I just wanted some because you took my city which I probably would have asked for even if no upgrades were being done.

Yeah I do think it's unfortunate that we've lost a lot of good players over the years.

Plako just no longer play? Or has he gone on to the great civ beyond?

Welcome to my thread, BaII, very well played! I expected you to die, like, 50 turns earlier. I am curious: was that workboat I killed in the south of any value to you?
