Unfortunately beyond that all other texts are used at random, it's not specific. This will be different in CoM 2 though, I've given most personality type their own set of texts to use for most conversation topics.

i gather you are trying to make come 2 work with 14 wizards.

if so, why not disregarding personality archetipes entirely and just make a different AI for each? do you think it would reduce the variety too much? they still would have random books, retorsts and race, right?

Is there any way, when in combat, to see at which city the battle takes place?

And, I got a staff that has syphon life ability. But the ability is not on the list on the mod manual page... How does it work? Like the spell, or differently?

As always, THANK YOU for the awesome answers!

No, there is unfortunately no way to see which city it is.

Syphon Life is a spell charge, it's not an ability. It means you can cast that spell in combat as many times as the number of charges in the item without using any MP.

Aha. If I don't have any Death books, can my hero still create undead with that staff?

Also, the supply commander ability (I guess this one is an ability smile), does it help only regular ranged units, or magical ranged too?

Yes, you can make undead with a Syphon Life staff.
Yes, Supply Commander helps magical ranged units as well.

You can. It just needs to deal more than half the total damage dealt to the unit you use on, including overkilled damage and healed damage.

Pretty sure it's both.

More random questions...

When you cast in combat not on your plain, does the range always count as 3x?

Regarding my previous question about the Syphon Life staff, in combat the other wizard summoned wild boars, I one-shot them with Syphon Life, but I didn't get undead boars after the battle... Why so?

Also noticed something strange. In my current game, I went to Myrror, scouted most of it, but have seen not one adamantium or mithril tile! There are some crystals, gems, etc, but not adamantium or mithril... Looks like there is only one mitril ore on the entire map, and that's shared between my second and third city on Arcanus smile

Range is always 3x on the other plane unless it's a Tower.

Combat summons can't be revived as undead because they disappear after combat. You can revive Wild Boars from neutral stacks/lairs that are permanent overland units, but not the ones summoned in combat.

It could be a few reasons. The obvious one is just luck and your map settings. The map generator doesn't always produce adamantium/mithril, if it happens to roll a bunch of other good ores. Similarly, I've had Rich mineral Huge map games with 0 Orihalcon on either plane. Another less likely reason is Raise Volcano. If there were more than 1 AI on Myrror, which is quite rare, but it happens--one of them might have volcano'ed the ores. Alternatively, in the even more unlikely event that contact between the planes was made before you managed to enter and a war broke out, the Arcanus wizard might have Volcano'ed the ores in a war against the Myrran wizard.

Possibly the latter... There is a chaos wizard on my plain who's in war with the Myrran. He was raising volcanoes left and right when he was warring on my plane, so... He didn't have that much time though... I guess he was quick about it smile It's just that it's the first time I see this I think.
