Turn pace has been horrible, it is no fun for me to play this PBEM for last 2 months.
I am considering to drop this PBEM. Is anyone willing to replace me? Otherwise I just keep playing without putting my heart into it.

Yeah, it has kinda cratered. Sorry I'm too spoilered to help frown

Turn 99 (my last turn):

Situation at turn 99:

Hm I did recall my science almost reaching 90, now suddenly dropped to 80. Likely due growth of cities which results in loss of 10%/5% amenities bonuses.
There is campus build ongoing in Newcastle which got adjaceny of 14 with natural philosophy policy, and with library there science should get over 100.
Also I founded new city Launceston at turn 98.

Chevalier:

What is good about my empire?
-Science is good, altough top 2 players are starting to run away due having more cities to build campuses, both 10 or more cities.
-Culture is good, highest of all players, more incoming with Kumasi boosted trade routes if traders in both Hobart and Canberra finishes, also optional faith purchase Amphitheater in Canberra with Jesuit Education.
-Gold is good now, I just drastically improved GPT by building 2 commerical hubs and markets.
-Great People, thanks Oracle many GP points from districts in Canberra (Scienist, Writer, Merchant and General), though top 2 players are slowy catching up due having more cities and districts.
-Suzeraining city states, it acts sort of deterrent, if others want conquer that city states, they have to declare war at me triggering 100% production bonus.

Not good:
-Faith, In beginning I hoped for more faith to play with but I wanted too much same things same time. So faith is somewhat lacking. Optional Holy site 1SE of Government Plaza (5 adjaceny bonus from start).
-Amount cities, this is probably my biggest mistake. After I finished Ancrestal Hall around turn 65 I produced extactly ONE settler till now, very poor usage of Ancrestal Hall. I was too busy with building districts and wonders...
At same time TheArchduke and The Black Sword spammed settlers or conquered city states to have over 10 cities both.
-Also military I am weakest, altough bit justified by no threat at all. Four players are at other contintent while other two at same island as me locked horns forever since turn 45.
But now Suboptimal seems finally gain edge and same time it is almost age of Caravel/Frigates. So some military build and navy is needed.
My army only have warriors, archers and one heavy chariot... and navy isn't much better, just two galleys. At least GG is among us.

I have pinned some things at map for example optional future city spots. You can reject them if you see fit. It is your game from now after all.

Oh I did forget to mention:

After 2 turns (turn 101), there is a era change from classical to medieval age. You surely get golden age.
So which dedication shall you pick? Keep in mind that currently golden age is running Pen,brush&voice dedication.
It is again one of possible choices and it is good for 15 culture per turn now.

Other options is Free Injuiry which gives you 11 science per turn extra (altough at cost of 15 culture per turn from Pen,brush&voice).
Or monumentality altough I don't recommend due low faith per turn and making use of Jesuit Education already.

And since TheArchduke and The Black Sword are already gotten Renassaince tech and you soon, I expect another era change at turn 141.

Right now it looks like the biggest needs are twofold: I need to start cranking out settlers, and I need to start cranking out a military to defend them. How do you stand with the important military techs? Can I build cheap ancient stuff and upgrade? Then again, gold is poor at the moment and it'll be expensive...hm, might need to hand build.

How are suzeraintys and envoys? Any city-states we've invested heavily in?

Finally, any explorers abroad? Where are they?

I think we need to PM PYDT about substituting a player, not sure exactly how it works. If you could send me your latest save via PM or something in the meantime, though, I can jump in and start exploring the Australian empire a bit.

Right now, my loose plan is

1)Fill out ~4-5 cities
2)Eat sub/pin
3)Rush to the seas and burn the other continents' ports so they can't ever escape
4)????
5)win

Other things:

1)A photo of the current government?
2)A quick rundown of what each city is building and why
3)A religious overview - your pantheon, and where is Jesuit Education coming from, Khmer?

I will second CMF on city count, your tall vs wide was interesting but ultimately civ is a game of expand or die.

About techs: I completed ALL techs from ancient till medieval tech. Meaning you can build knight, crossbowmen, pikeman, horseman and swordsmen right away.
Currently researching gunpowder for musketman, tough you are free to swap away and save till you cranked out some swordsmen.
I hasn't researched navy beyond galleys and quadrimes yet.
You have three scources of niter, two of them under district and one at hill 2 S of newly founded Launceston, feel free to mine it for rifling tech boost.
Currently building 2 traders, if you route both towards city states, you gain more gold quickly.

Also a special mention: Diggers don't require oil unlike normal infantry since Gathering Storm update, meaning you can ignore steel and beeline for replaceable parts for infantry unlike all others

How are suzeraintys and envoys? Any city-states we've invested heavily in?

You have suzerainity over Kumasi, Auckland, Fez, Brussels and Hattusa. Mostly 3 or 4 envoys, all of them not heavily invested though Kumasi has Amani in it.

Finally, any explorers abroad? Where are they?

Just two galleys, both north and south of Suboptimal/Pindicator. In east run into blockade by ice or borders, in west northern route blocked by Suboptimal, but southern is free and also sighted Roman galley.

Sorry, I forgot to make seperate save for you. You can start up turn 100 and take time to look around, other players in this PBEM except TheArchduke don't seem mind playing every 3 days.

I don't have it, but I am running autocracy now, 2 military slots (conscription and feudal contract), 1 economic slot (serfdom due free 5 charge builder from Launceston when I founded it) and 1 wild card slot (natural philosophy, currently 10Icon_Science per turn extra and 17 if campus in Newcastle is completed).
I am researching Exploration to get more better government with more policy slots.
By way legacy is Oligrachic one, with 4+ strength bonus for melee units, boost for eventual Musketmen or Diggers.

2)A quick rundown of what each city is building and why

Both Hobart and Canberra are building traders to get more gold and take advantage of Kumasi's suzerainity, a one trader sent from Canberra to city states gives 8Icon_Culture extra per turn.
Geelong builds workshop for more GE points, next GE is one who can rush wonder, I intended to use it for Petra in Newcastle. But recently TBS spam industrial zones in his cities.
Newcastle builds 7 adjaceny campus (14 with natural philosophy slotted).
Adelaide is a front city, walls for safety and lesses my worries.
Launceston is recently founded, get up some infrastructure there.

3)A religious overview - your pantheon, and where is Jesuit Education coming from, Khmer?

My chosen Pantheon is Goddess of open sky, so 1Icon_Culture at every pasture, a little combo with Australian culture bombing pastures.
Jesuit Education is from my very own religion, I founded it with Stonehenge, chosen two beliefs: Jesuit Education and Church Property.
I planned to pick religious colonization as next belief, so every new city get my religion automatically without missionary, saving up faith for Jesuit Education and also instant extra 2 gold per turn thanks Church Property.

Great synergy on religious colonization and Church Property, since population doesn't matter at all. I'll save up some Faith for an apostle to do that - I think Gold is more important than spending that faith on universities atm. But it's a nice sync with Australia's ability, too, and should let me push science if I can build a HS at a high production city - that will let me export production as faith into other science buildings and trigger the district discount.

Government looks good, but yeah, we need more economic slots - NP, Serfdom, and Colonization if it's not obsolete are all important to run so I can push out lots of cities and get out high-charge builders. I'd also like to get down a few more commercial hubs to really goose gold generation and take advantage of Kumasi, too. Hm, maybe that can follow a military push?

With Muskets, that should be enough to defeat Sub and Pin, whose science is badly behind. Muskets should be able to crush sub's Xbows, especially if he's locked into war with pin. So that will be my military target, following up perhaps with Cavalry at military science which I think is the next jump and should be out of reach of any of them.

Lots of city-states, which as Australia paired with the suzerainty rule is a sensible strategy. However, I intend to start eating those soon. The suzerainty rule is working as intended, though - it was meant to make eating CSes not the ONE RIGHT CHOICE in all circumstances and at least make you think before declaring war, and so far it looks like CSes are living longer.

My plan is solidifying: first an economic push to get settlers out and bring our city-count in line with Russia while Khmer/Nubia are distracted. Hopefully pin can hold out. Second, a military build up - defensive ranged units mostly to go shore up pin, while I build up a decent roundhouse punch to hit Sub in the north. Then of course eat pin right after. Finally, phase 3, use the continental possession to push out a navy (this might be simultaneous with phase 2) superior to Cree/Russia/Rome, who are hopefully hampered by each other, sink their navies first, and burn their coastal cities second. Phase 4 is a push to any victory condition, but I would expect a concession during phase 3.

Will any of this happen? Well, the settler push probably can. Anything after that? Who knows! We'll do our best!
