[SPOILERS]PB46: (In Search of) Fine Foreign Dining, by Hannibal of England

Well nobody asked me but it was pretty clear OH was the winner for a while now.

Since this was an inherited civ, you weren't part of my initial "are you ready for the game to end?" outreach.

As to OH being the clear winner, if a) he delayed his attack, or b) his overture to Commodore failed, I think he'd be an underdog, albeit a slight one.

Damn you were paranoid that we would be gunning for you! smile After you took over Krill we actually wanted to have good border and peace with you (as Elkad had attacked us before he was definite target after we had mopped up Rome). That's why we did not attack Circei and left it to you (we thought you would capture it much earlier though). Ending iron for iron was also just ment to signal that "our joint war" had ended, not that we are coming after you. We also felt it was outdated deal that was not relevant anymore.

Only time we seriously considered hitting you was just at the end, but even then we felt hitting Rusten directly was better.

I honestly think you did correct choice at the end regarding diplo, letting us and Rusten fight until death was the best shot you had at winning this game. So either just declining all offers from both us and Rusten, do what you did, or stop trading with both of us would all have been resonable moves. But I do understand that it was easier to make guy who can't reach you for a while angry and thus choosing to stop trading with Rusten instead of us feels sensible move.

You nailed me once in this game already, getting wrecked a second time was always in the back of my mind after that. I would have gone after Circei sooner but I didn't want to burn up the hammers it would take to get through CG3 hill wall longbows pre-Gunpowder since my production was pretty weak all game long.

It's always a bad sign when your path to winning a game is "I hope both of the guys who are doing really well do something unbelievably dumb" but this is a pitboss where I made a tactical move so stunningly powerful that, as far as I can tell, it made one of the best players on the forum completely abandon the entire internet, so I wasn't going to give up hope.

Yeah, I do understand that getting hit by us once would make you suspicious about us trying it again.

Seriously speaking though, thanks for not just blindly seeking revenge once you inherited England but instead trying to make best of your position.
