Hopefully the scout kills this bear on defense, and we dont get a random barb within range to attack our undefended southern city for the next 3-4t.
Are we teching Writing after Hunting finishes?

If so, i assume Writing-Sailing-Alphabet?

I think we're getting dogpiled. Do you think cats and axes or horse archers are going to fare better? I'd guess Gav is heading to hbr while GKC is heading to IW.

I dont think we are likely to get dogpiled, but i do believe GKC will send praets ASAP to slow us down. That being said, HA's are my go-to to defend against them. Cats are nice, but i think they might come to late to really be a factor if he rushes IW...

Demos arent too bad considering we just whipped off food. I will be watching the power graph closely to know when GKC starts pumping units. HA's/WE's are probably our go-to. Mr.Cairo also expressed his wish to possibly partition GKC in the future.
Mr. Cairo Wrote:superdeath Wrote:If he neighbors Rask, im fairly sure a stonehedge play will just trigger TBW.
Moving on to our shared neighbor, im expecting to be at 4 cities before he hits 3. We have alot of fertile land between us to compete for, so you might be able to push some more cities his way. Barracks/stables HA's are basically the only way we can reliably take down a praet stack right now. ( besides a huge stack of cats )
Yeah, I'm planning on settling towards him before Rask. HAs are a good idea to go for, perhaps we can have tech trades that involves HBR and/or Construction?
So long as Gavagai has to worry about someone else, or just doesnt want to tackle us... we should have a 2v1 vs GKC if we play our cards right. Mr.Cairo certainly doesnt want a big AGG Rome neighbor..
Going to try and move the scout to get hit by that bear next turn. So long as it doesnt like, kill the scout.. i think we should be fine.
Other scout is hopefully going to defog some of that jungle area. Maybe there will be some gems/gold there?

Any thoughts/questions?

From Irismono:
Tech exchange I'll have to check on, but we are open to screenshot trades. As for who we've met:
TBW of the USA (North and East)
Raskol of India (East)
GKC of Rome (South of course)
-
According to Raskol, Mr. Cairo is south of him, so to our South East.
SO Thats roughly the state of where everyone is. and then Gavagai sent me this:
Gavagai Wrote:Irismono very obviously lacks enthusiasm. It looks like I will need to conduct diplo myself which is not ideal. I will be able to send out the picture at some point today or tomorrow. As it turned out, Mac comes without a pre-installed paint-like graphic editor, so I will need to figure something out about that. Meanwhile, you can send me your picture. I have found Rome to the south of me, behind the jungle belt. If you are reasonably close, we might have some common interest in containing him.

Injured scout c1 vs barb warrior... Poor scout. The low-low chance that it wins would net us a medic tho!

Until we get a NAP with one or the other of them I'm going to be nervous.
On the barb warrior I'm pretty sure he won't enter borders if there's nothing to attack or pillage until there are 19 cities in the world. The 1/20 shot for our scout to survive would be better though. We need more units in the micro.
Speaking of micro. I'm wondering about sailing to start a galley t51, but that might be better being a chariot or axe.
t44 wkA moves 1s of horse, other moves to ivory and starts camp, WB hooks clams, A switches to Q and works 2 clam, B works clam/mine, C works wheat/copper
t45 Settle D, start terrace, work clam, wkA pasture horse, A works clam/mine
t46 A resumes worker wheat/2 mines, B works 2 clam, C starts Worker mine/ivory/copper
t47 A works wheat/2 mines, B 2 clams/forest, C mine/ivory/copper
t48 wkB farms sugar, wkC 1 turn cottage SE of A, A resumes Q works wheat/2 mine, B starts Q 2 clam/mine, C whips worker ivory/copper, D clam, Quechua from B could move to coast city?
t49 wkA moves to forest (although perhaps we need to road the horse?), B moves 2SW, C farms sugar, D roads SE of C. A works wheat/clam/mine, B 2 clam/mine, C starts settler ivory/copper, D clam
t50 wkA chops, A resumes Quetchua mine/2clam, B clam/2 mine/forest, C starts Q wheat/sugar, D horse, Q from B moves towards southern city
t51 wkD farms sugar, A starts galley? clam/2 mine, B starts settler clam/mine/forest/marble, D clam/horse

95% chance is what the warrior had vs the scout lol.
Writing finishes basically next turn IIRC. Sailing afterwords is fine but i think we need to ramp up our military spending soon. Human barbs and barbarian humans might get jealous of our opening.. Ill post images later.

finishing the tech and saving gold so we can full steam to Sailing. I do think sailing-HBR ( with archery thrown in ) might be ideal soon to make sure we cant be easily bullied. Something like Sailing-HBR ( to start stables? ) Archery-Alphabet? Ill send a PM to Mr.Cairo on what the likelyhood of him coming to our aid sooner should our neighbors pounce. Also if Gavagai doesnt want to trade our alphabet for his math, if maybe we can get math from somewhere else.. Hopefully our scout can make it to TBW/Rask.

Sent out feelers to Mr.Cairo regarding what to do with the AGG Rome problem. Hopefully ill hear some positive news back with that soon. I also attempted to tempt Gavagai with some offers he might not be able to refuse.
