All words are rated on 1-5 for initial thoughts:

String-ropes bring trees down (2)
Hospital-lots injuries for lumberjacks  (2)
Oil-used in tools and trucks, a "jack" is used to lift cars for oil changes  (2)
India-?  (1)
Drop-Trees fall (2)
Paper-Trees make paper  (3)
Cliff-?  (1)
Buck-? (1)
Egypt-? (1)
Cycle-? (1)
Embassy-made from wood (1)
Deck-made from wood  (2)
Nurse-takes care of injuries  (1)
Lock-chainsaws have locks  (2)
Ruler-measures things, often made from wood  (1)
Kid-? (1)
Fall-trees are felled  (4)
Temple-made of wood?  (1)
Atlantis-?  (1)
Trigger-?  (1)
Bark-on trees  (4)
Cast-lots of injured limbs  (2)
Death-its a dangerous profession  (2)
Needle-is there a tool called this? (1)
Leprechaun-?  (1)

I feel pretty confident on bark and fall, in that order.  I think paper is probably strong enough to guess.  After that, only oil for the play on the word jack or hospital for injuries seems remotely possible, and those are very tangential.

So I suggest bark, then fall, then paper.

Let`s see. BARK looks obvious and FALL is quite strong too.

I`m not sure about the third word. Maybe DECK for ship building? Or perhaps a DROP of timber when trees are cut down?

@GES: Yes, PAPER is definitely an option. I think I still prefer DECK as a direct result of chopping down trees. Making PAPER is a long process.

Deck for ships and homes are definitely made from lumber, so that is possible.  My mind goes to paper first just because I feel that is a more common end use of lumber--turned into wood pulp and produced at paper mills.

I would be OK with guessing either at this point.  Assuming we are right on the first two, we only have a 1/23 of hitting the black word, and an 8/23 chance of hitting a red, so only 9/23 to hit something bad."

as its lumberjack 3, and not Wood 3-4... i suspect FALL-DROP-BARK are the only logical answers. As Bark is on the trees... Drop/fall is what happens to the lumber when its chainsawed/axed... so UH? Yeah, fairly simple.
