No, i edited my dosbox conf file and replaced magic.exe with 601to603.bat, started the game(well, bat file actualy), closed dosbox, restored conf file and it worked.
It has to be done inside dosbox, 64bit windows cannot run 16 bit applications anymore unfortunately.
I had to open several files to find the one you are talking about. There are a lot of conf files in the directories! Correct one is
..\Master of Magic\Master of Magic Caster of Magic DLC\dosboxMOM_single.conf Edit it. Put REM in front of magic.exe and add a new line, put "601to603.bat" on it, without quotes. Save the file. Double click your shortcut to CoM, like you were starting the game. You'll see a DOS window when it is done. Type 'exit' and hit enter. In the conf file we edited before and should still be open, undo the changes. Save and close the file. Start the game again. In the Load area, version should be 6.03. Thanks for making this available, Seravy! (May 9th, 2020, 15:34)Fringe Wrote: I had to open several files to find the one you are talking about. There are a lot of conf files in the directories! The game freezes during AI turns on 6.01, I am wondering if it is during the drain mana spell by an AI wizard.
Game save attached, just click next turn.
I tried disabling all players one at a time.
Disabling the blue player prevented the freeze. So their unit movement, possibly the floating island that moves last, is suspicious. Killing the stack, or removing the two floating island fixes the problem so that stack really is the culprit. ...tried to track what happens in debug, after the floating island stack moving, another stack tries to move and then it freezes trying to find a path for movement. That's weird, this part hasn't been changed in years and is used all the time by every movement so it can't possibly have a bug. It's more likely it is receiving invalid input? ...anyway, removing the two floating islands from the stack using the tweaker (they are unit 134 and 154 or something around that number) fixes the save file so I recommend doing that.
Thanks for having a look, could if be that both floating islands were stacked on top of each other and it got confused?
I'm not sure what the tweaker is or how to use it. Is it included in the game download from GoG?
No, it's this thing : https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/foru...php?fid=53
It's basically a save game editor. Find the two islands and set their "owner" to -1. |
