He obviously meant "Banzai", but a spymaster sunrise cluing Bonsai and then getting frustrated when his team picked something like "Spring, Stick" would have been wonderful.

Hmm, my first thoughts for Cylinder were Pipe and Train. Spring and Stick work too though. Pipe and Stick aren't too difficult to clue together with something like Match (2), and you might be able to get Spring and Cylinder with Slinky (2), but Pipe and Train are tough; maybe Tube (2).
