Attach the camp and red-lined the spearman. He will go down next turn. Other warrior moves closer to suspected city state but could not get any better vision due to block LOS. A barb scout did appear by Bologna. I decided to leave him alone, better to meet the city state just in case no one has met them yet and I am wrong that my eastern neighbor is Kaiser. Here is settler vision...
Internationally, everybody has completed a tech and civic, with Kaiser having 2 techs. Suboptimal gained 3 era points, so either cleared a close camp or discovered a natural wonder. He and I are now tied for first (or at least until next turn when I clear the camp).

Started turn by attacking the camp and getting that sweet barb gold. Eastern warrior moves south and finds purple borders...
I am pretty sure Kaiser is my neighbor to the east.
Turn 16
Open the save to...
I slot Mining, due in 8 turns. Move my southern warrior and meet Vilnius...
They have already been met but give me a very eary quest, trigger the boost to Craftsmanship. I will have that when Mining finishes. I do get my pantheon this turn and select Fertile Rites for the builder and quicker growth. Builder will go pasture the sheep, then farm the wheat, and finally quarry the stone once Mining is complete.
In international news, everybody's score remains the same with the exception of suboptimal, who has put out a settler (empire score has dropped by 1). No sure he is the first. I would have expected Ichabod to get a settler out first, since he built a scout and was first to 2 and 3 population. He must have went for a builder after the scout or hide the settler with an immediate regrowth. We should see new cities in about 5 or 6 turns. My settler is due next turn and will settle on T21.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I bought the whales tile for 75 gold on T15. Didn't know if the cost would go up with finishing AH. Also, promoted warrior that took camp with Battlecry.

Finished settler, started a monument. Moved western warrior into plains forest and he will climb the plains hill to get vision on any incoming barbs that might threaten my settler. Builder pastured the sheep. I realized I should have farmed the wheat first to grow back to size 2 in 1 turn instead of 2. Oh well, not a big deal. Southern river flooded and added fertility to 4 tiles Now I have some nice 2/1 floodplains plains tiles. Should make for some nice growth in my future cities.
I removed all my district pins because the horses messes them up a little. I will have to rethink it. I did add a city pin to the industrial zone group on the non-fresh water horses. The city doesn't get much in production but I think I can get it a 10 or 11 IZ and it can be part of the district zone in the center of those 4 cities. I also added a few pins and drafted out an order of settling. The 2 in the west are conditional on what lies under the fog.
In international news, Ichabod has finished his 2 tech and is now leading in science. Other than that, nothing has changed.

Open the save to a notification that I have met someone. Look around and don't see anybody. Check notification and it is Ichabod's Brazil. Click the notification and it zooms me over by my eastern warrior. Move my eastern warrior to the wheat tile and spot a Brazilian scout under my "5th" pin in the west. I move warrior back towards my settler to offer any protection in case he tries something...
Southern warrior moves east and finds some spices.
Looking at Brazil, his science is 7.5 but culture is only 1.7 . This means he is not my neighbor to the east and he has already met 2 science city states I don't see any other way. I guess he could of researched pottery->writing and chopped out a campus but T18 seems really fast for that. And he wouldn't have mining to chop it out, so nope! The 4 luxuries on this continent seem to be spice, marble, jade, and gypsum, so not luxuries that give science. Are there any luxuries that do give science besides turtles? Double turtle start? Not sure if growth would be so fast. Must have 2 science city states in his direction, which I figure is west or southwest. We are making the same gold but he has a little more in the bank than me. My military power is 36 versus his 30 but he went scout and hasn't built another unit yet. I also think since I found a spice this turn on my continent, given his quick growth, he might be sporting at least one jungle spice in his capital, maybe 2. Which also means he has jungle at his capital and is most likely southwest of me and will become a monster tech-er once he researches Writing and gets a few more envoys. Lastly, he is running Urban Planing since he is not generating any faith. This is starting to not look so good for me science-wise.

Brazil's scout did not move closer to my capital and I suspect he moved north to meet La Venta. He should have been able to see red tiles on settler vision last turn. I move my warrior across the river to protect the settler and both will move across the river next turn and settle of T21. I suspect his scout will show up on he coast north of my 2nd city spot. Probably not next turn but the turn I settle. If he has been tracking scores, he should cut across my land, looking for the Foreign Trade boost.
Southern warrior is going to head south, hoping to come across one of those scientific city states' units. Same will happen with my warrior guarding the settler. After city is settled, he will move southwest of the lake in the southwest.
Internationally, suboptimal is first to a 2nd city and Kaiser has completed his 3rd tech. Suboptimal also has a source of faith, maybe a city state, because is now ahead of me on the religious rankings. I am last in culture and science, due to my low population. I am still #1 in military power, so nobody has built a second warrior or a third unit yet.
Having met Brazil last turn, I am expecting an classical horseman and swordsman rush and I will need to plan accordingly. I think my 3rd city will still go east but probably to the spot marked "3rd" instead of the "2nd" spot. That will let me build another +2 or +3 Cothon that can be boosted by science dedication in the Classical Golden Age. I will rework my current plan to account for an early rush. I will also have to see when he starts collecting horses and iron.

Bonus second turn of the day! Settler moves into position and will found 2nd city next turn. Southern warrior moves east for a little better vision, doesn't find much. I think I will make my way to the sheep.
Didn't notice much internationally. Everybody has completed a 2nd tech (Kaiser has 3) except me.
I am currently debating with myself if the Government Plaza should go in the capital or 2nd city. For whatever city it goes in will get +50% towards districts. Argument for the capital is that I have 2 forests to chop into settlers for quick expansion and it has a higher production to continue with settlers. For second city, the GP will give adjacency bonus to both Cothons, instead of just 1 if in capital. I will be building a dam in this city and it doesn't have much production until it get some builder love and some lumbermills. It does have a few plains hills for high production tiles but only 1 forest to chop that will go into the Ancestral Hall regardless of city. It seems to be your classic "quick return now or long-term investment" argument. I have little time, so don't need to decide now. Any thoughts?

Founded my 2nd city. I think I need a naming convention, any suggestions? Once city founded, I did find Brazil's scout up by La Venta. Warrior guarding settler now moves to guard builder while I wait for Mining to complete. Southern warrior moves across the river and doesn't uncover anymore tiles due to jungle and hills. He will move to sheep hill and should see beyond the flat jungles. New city starts a monument and worked a plains forest for 1 /2 until I have the 50 to buy the stone (2 turns). Here is the world in strategic view...
I wanted to show this view because you can zoom out a little more. My working hypothesis so far is the map has either 3 players in the north and 2 in the south, or vise versa, and they are staggered. So, my best guess is that Brazil is to my southwest (probably by the ship picture) and Egypt to my southeast (on the other side of Bologna and Vilnius). Southern warrior will head east, south east to see if I can find signs of life. Nothing on settler-vision. Does anybody know when loyalty shows up, I think it is when borders lock down at Early Empire but not 100%.
Internationally, Ichabod also settled his second city and suboptimal must have put out another unit. He is leading in military power. Kaiser has finished his 2nd civic. I am still leading in points, thanks to my 14 era points and Ichabod is leading if we subtract out the era points. I would be in 4th place without them. Still a little early to judge how people are doing based on points though, give it another 30 turns and we will have to see where everybody is at.

Northern warrior moves to protect the builder but Brazil's scout has disappeared. Best bet would be he is heading west to look for another civilization or more city states. Possible he is swing south and defogging the land south of me, maybe even between us. No telling. If he is not visible next turn, I will start moving the warrior west to defog and look for Brazil and his city states. Speaking of city states...
Southern warrior found a science city state, Hattusa. Forgot to check if Ichabod has the first-to-met envoy but it's not me. They want a Great Prophet. I should have that eventually from La Venta but not anytime soon. I think the envoy from Mysticism will go here. Also looks like there is maybe barbs west of the injured warrior. Maybe I can snipe some barb gold?
Internationally, Kaiser founded his second city. Only CMF remains at 1 city. Didn't notice anything else. Monument at capital will finish next turn, then I will start a slinger. I will also have enough gold to buy the stone and give the second city a little more food.
