[SPOILER] Close to Win

I've looked into this some more. Now it is possible for me to finish another settler and settle yellow dot SE of CommandoPygmies. The problem is this will increase maintenance by at least 10. With that I would be at Currency at roughly T138. Without the extra city I would get to currency at roughly T119. I think it's more important to stabilize my economy right now.

I did even more of a microplan and Currency came down to:

Without Yellow = T111
With Yellow = T118

Mh, I'm also thinking about investing hammers into the Pyramid somewhere in hope that I get fail gold out of it.

Wow, even without yellow that's a loooong time. Does your plan include cottage growth and working scientists as well as the fail gold?

How much is your army costing at the moment? It might be a good idea not to build those units.

I did some further planning with cottage growth, working scientists etc. Now I don't plan with fail gold as I can't know when and how much I get. With all that I managed to drop the numbers down to:

Without Yellow = T109
With Yellow = T113

That looks a lot better for Yellow and if I get that Fail gold it will come even earlier. But yes it is very late. I still want to build those 2 extra units as I'm feeling rather naked at my east side.

I made myself a reminder to screenshot the relevant advisors next time.

For comparison. If somebody else completes the Hanging Gardens this turn, I will finish Currency in T104 thanks to fail gold.

Well looks like the dam is broken in the pindicator/Giraflorens war. Team Girarober is now down to 2 cities.

The current state of relations. It's interesting that Jowy does not have contact to Mr. Cairo and Mjmd. contemplate

The current state of my finances. A sorry state I am in right now, but remember that my Capital is still in full production mode for the wonder.

With Giraflorens soon leaving the competition, it's time to have another look at the graphs.

Interesting development in the south-west. Looks like Mjmd will go for the tundra area. I could see him settling the snow tile 1SW of his axe. That would be great as it does not disturbe my dotmap. Also I've founded another city here: ImperialRatmen, which will make the marble area pretty safe from any land attacks.

Also still no new wonders build. Now the big question for the upcoming turns is what Superdeath will do, because he whipped 5 times again with 3 double whips. Who will suffer his wrath? At least it's not me. mischief

A thought just hit me like a brick: Jowy does not have an eastern neighbor or any other neighbor aside from me and AT. Why? Well:
  • The way the coastline moves could mean that the sea north of him and south of him connect east of him
  • The only other player he has contact with, aside from me and AT, is Giraflorens. Now remember how I met Giraflorens? I met his work boat in the southern sea and he most likely moved around the this eastern sea to meet AT.
  • Jowy settled rather aggressively towards me and made sure to capture that northern barb city. Why? Of course because there isn't more land to his east.
Now if this is true it has some major geopolitical impact. It means I'm the main expansion target for him. It also means that it's in my best interest to let AT and Jowy share a border. Maybe I can deflect Jowy towards AT.

Wow, Superdeath attacked pindicator. The two score leaders for the most of the game are at their throats. I must say with pindicator delaying and whipping last turn I almost expected this move.
