And a virus doesn't care for politics but this should be a highly historically literate forum, people will always use whatever crisis for political points.

Speaking of A/C, if those darn libtards win the election, they gon get rid of our A/C's and our darn windows! How we gon breathe then? First masks and now this! GOD made perfectly fine lungs and windows for us, ain't no need to go n change thangs just to mess with us!

I'd buy that, but the amount of people rushing head-long to the beach is unbelievable in exactly these "very hot places" - that's where they get infected. After a long day out, go to the bar or drive back with friends and get the virus from drinking or driving together.

recent CDC notice highlighting just how amazingly effective masks can be at preventing transmission. 130~ cases averted because of proper mask use.

Hyper-politicization started a long time before he became president. He's at best a symptom of that politicization.

Beaches are just about the coolest outdoor place to go if you're a benighted soul finding yourself in SoCal or Florida. But yeah, transmission is much more likely from the bar or restaurant afterwards. Please do encourage everyone you know to get outside in the sun.

Also, this is what a central government is SUPPOSED TO DO: coordinate supplies, manage the messaging, convince people that today's sacrifice will pay off in the future. Why were the equally politicized European countries able to pull this off, while the US failed miserably? You have to start wih Mr. "I take no responsibility for that."

Are the European countries equally politicized? I'd argue not all of them. Yes there are countries like the UK, which have a similar politicition. But then again there are countries like Germany that are not that politicized. I think the reason for that lies in the different political systems. A system that favors/leads to a two party system is bound to be more politicized compared to a system that allows for multiple parties and therefore requires more compromises from everybody.
