I think that PAPER and ROSE are the likely words. IIRC a ROSE is a frequent subject of origami.

Yep, suboptimal's ROSE is much more general, and sensible (although not yet proven ...). As soon as he made it I could see the pit opening under the players' feet if they were SF fans ... and of course they were ![alright alright](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/alright.gif) .
I am psychologically far too fond of "cute" connections, whereas the game is really a matter of communicating as unambiguously as possible over a limited channel with a non-deterministic code book, not one of clever word-play at all.

You want to target more words, sure, and if that requires stretches and obscurities, that's half the fun. But targeting the same number directly is better than obliquely. Unless you need to be oblique to avoid the assassin or some such.
On the issue of recues, we've tried that and the consensus tends to be it's a bad idea overall, because the team loses too much information about the quantities when they overlap. If you clue X 3 and Y 3, it's much better for the team to reliably know they're looking for six words total, rather than possibly stopping after five. Re-targeting the same word only works at endgame, when the total quantities given exceed the team's original word total, so the team knows there is overlap.
BTW Thrawn, our standard is that current players (including spymasters) shouldn't be reading the lurker thread during a game in progress, which #35 game 2 now is since you posted that. There's not really hidden information to leak unlike a Civ spoiler thread, but both the spymasters and players should be limited to the team's own wits and not that of outside input.

If Azoth is American (or known to be familiar with the Northeast US) I'd guess that MASS would be the third word for Tea as "Mass." is frequently used as an abbreviated for Massachusetts.

We had that argument once before about that word, someone saying that Mass could be read for Massachusetts and someone else calling people an idiot for expecting that. I forget who was right.

Wow, WarriorKnight either really knows his audience, or has sown total confusion. FWIW, Rosier the Fallen was my first thought, and with Bob and Lewwyn in the team it could be a clever play.
Personally, I would double-down on the hell-knight with KNIGHT, FIGHTER, TEMPLE, PIT. I don't like any of the "pinker/nicer" links. But I've already stated my over-fondness for cleverness ...

I like that Orchestra clue. I think it's Pit + Tap + Needle, as in the baton. If you were trying to clue that set, Orchestra is exactly how you would do it. The team seems to like Dance but I'm not so sure, that's not a word that would get you thinking of Orchestra as a clue.

I wish you were on my team for that round.
