Point to watch

Watch is Blue
Blue wins!
Congrats, team; here's the full board:
SPRING | FIGHTER | AIR | PAN | LEPRECHAUN | TORCH | PHOENIX | CAP | MOLE | DANCE | HOOD | MINT | LONDON | BOX | ALIEN | YARD | CAR | SCHOOL | BOLT | CROWN | SCIENTIST | FENCE | TRACK | DWARF | WATCH |
I had an easy board this round, and could conceivably have won in two rounds if I had been more aggressive with the first clue (intended Watch; thought Spring was too weak a connection to try for 5). Expected the team to hit Track, didn't anticipate Box, but it was immaterial.
As Ichabod suggested, Red popping Crown only changed the number I paired with Fawkes. Similarly, Watch and Spring are easily paired as Clockwork (2), so Red misfiring was helpful primarily in ending their turns prematurely.

Yeah, I still don't see any good way to finish it up even in three rounds. Maybe Dragon (3) for Phoenix, Dwarf, and Dance, Ray for Bolt, Scientist, and Alien, and then Purple for Mole, Car and Mint? That's a real stretch.

Well clued thrawn, not much else you can do on the last turn with that difficult board and unfortunate blocking words from blue.
I think superdeath is the next spymaster for Blue team. I'm happy to take the lead for Red, although since Azoth and I were spymasters for 35-2 Ichabod or Commodore can have it if they want.

Red board was really difficult, but it was a very good effort. Bob's clues were also on point.
I defer the spymaster hat to whomever wants it.

Yeah, tough board. The trouble with Dragon is that I would probably have picked TORCH and AIR over any of those words, and two back-to-back misfires would have been demoralising.
In retrospect, the best approach would probably have been Jadzia 4, trusting that we would eventually hit PHOENIX and MOLE (our minimal knowledge would have helped in this regard, as we could not go on wild tangents, and the possibilites would have narrowed anyway as the rounds progressed). Then Spin 2 would have been the perfect closer. Good game, all the same!
I am happy to spymaster next round - but as WarriorKnight said, we did it last game, and I'd encourage everyone to try it out.
