Are you, in fact, a pregnant lady who lives in the apartment next door to Superdeath's parents? - Commodore

[SPOILERS] scooter's PB53

Would a three way split of Commodore -> Scooter -> AT benenfit you in terms of coordination if in fact Commodore enters the war?

Otherwise what’s the double move rule? Is it just like gentleman’s agreement or is it forbidden?

You're all in the same time zone IIRC and even if you were playing before both of them there's still a 3-way split - otherwise they could alter their order depending on who has the siege etc - so I'd discount your second point somewhat.

The double move probably wouldn't matter, but we can't know that, so I wouldn't. Is playing your turn but leaving a unit unmoved nearby, asking AT not to play just yet, waiting for com to play, then killing the scout too convoluted?

I don't think this game has any official rules, hah. Just trying not to cause a problem.

I think the problem I have here is that I started playing this turn, so I think Commodore is waiting anyway. I spent some time on it this morning and moved a few units, and then I realized I wasn't going to be able to finish before my window to play closed. I was planning to kill the scout later in the turn, but it was during the day today as this turn was on my mind that it occurred to me to check PBSpy because I remembered Commodore played a lot earlier than normal yesterday. That probably means I just have to suck it up and not declare this turn. OR I declare, but don't kill the scout this turn, that way I'm not hurting anything. Part of the plan was to declare and offer peace terms to try to lock in 10T of peace, because I want him to declare intentions.

Just noticed he played just now. lol

I guess I'll probably declare and accept the 3-way split, and if an opening to swap spots opens up, I'll do it. I think I'm safe to kill the scout in this case.

Turn 89-90

Logged in after noticing he played, and, well, that solves that dilemma. The scout escaped. Also notice the presence of a Catapult for AT and the newly formed bridge. AT picked up Construction last turn.

Anyway, I didn't get around to reporting last turn, but the newsworthy thing was Commodore closed borders with me right before my scout got to his border with AT. That clearly confirms he's doing something over there. What exactly is hard to say, because he still hasn't declared on AT for some strange reason. I honestly expected him to declare 3 turns ago and run over some lightly defended cities. The fact that he still hasn't has my spidey senses tingling a bit. He did spy on my newly captured island city with a sentry chariot, though I've dropped another unit in there. I wondered if he would do some sort of weird boating attack, but that's really hard to pull off and would probably cost him more than it's worth. The only other possibility is he's going to try to prop AT up in some way. However, what I do know is that his two central cities (middle of the wheel) are not that well defended. I also think he's my top competition in this game. I decided against declaring for this turn since I couldn't kill the scout. While I did advance on AT's capital, I did throw out one possibility to AT.

I asked him to cede the lightly defended Kyoto freely to me and close borders with Commodore in exchange for peace. I don't think he will take this offer. I've harmed him enough, and he's probably not interested in taking peace just to wait for me to maybe return again. Totally understand that. However, on the off chance he accepts in the interest of living longer and possibly making it to HBR, I'll just take my stack and attempt to hit Commodore's central cities while his military is seemingly out of position. At the very least, it'll force him to make some really awkward defensive whips and choices while I have the option to whip out a round of banks and try to push into the lead. At least, that's the working theory. 90% likely AT just rejects this, and we carry on. More cautiously though.

Into Organized Religion and Buddhism we go. I elected to skip Theocracy. I don't think it tilts the scales in my upcoming fights in any meaningful way, but I badly need an infrastructure round, so I felt like this was more flexible because I think it's going to be quite awhile before I revolt again. I agonized over this choice for many hours across the span of a week. We'll see how the choice looks in a few weeks.

The state of things post-turn. My top Cho-Ku-Nu gets odds in the 40s on his top defender, and my C2 Shock Knight gets like 70% odds (!). The problem I have are the raw bodies. I'm bringing a couple more, but this gets a touch dicey if Commodore does show up in some way. After the top 4ish defenders, the rest are pretty much just warm bodies.

Cornflakes just got the Music artist I think. I bet we see another Golden Age from him soon. He doesn't have enough land, but he can make some noise and steal a lot of first-to bonuses off of me, so he's very much in this game still. I've got several units watching him like a hawk to make sure he doesn't screw with me. I've been keeping a bank account balance specifically to be able to do emergency upgrades as needed, as well as keeping a Galley with a pair of Cho-Ku-Nus on it that can cover both of my cities on his front at 0 turns notice. His enforced peace with TBS ran out, and they're both staring each other down, but they haven't done anything yet.

Final GA turn demos. Tops in soldiers, and Cornflakes is second.

Power graph. Little bit of an arms race going on world-wide. These next 10-20 turns are insanely important turns. Any questions?

What would you like to see different in the next Advanced start game?
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

I'm not sure, because in general, I think it was great. I had a lot of fun spending a few hours trying to figure out how to properly spend the gold. Maybe the next one has different gold amounts, or maybe the setup attempts to balance traits/civs by allowing you more or less gold depending on your choices. That may not be possible though, as you don't have a per-player gold option, so maybe that's not doable.

I have a wackier concept for a future game brewing in my head, but you probably won't see that idea until long after this game concludes because I need to make sure once the idea is out there that I get to actually play in it.

A thought i had was to come up with a system for resources? But they take a Chunk of gold. like... "Riverside gold, 500 gold" if u want it in the BFC

Yeah something like that might be interesting. One catch with advanced start is it depends a little too heavily on worker techs. You need them to get going, but buying them is by far the least efficient use of your gold, so your choices revolve around starting techs a bit more than ideal. I wonder if an advanced start with a lower budget but all starting techs pre-owned might have more interesting choices. Not sure, that would require testing, but it's a thought.

id be down to make a more plains/harsher map too if that is needed.
