Another thing. Is unit gifting allowed in this game? I realize we didn't exactly make any rules. My preference is for not allowed, but if anyone at all feels otherwise, I definitely don't want to unfairly impose that mid-stream. I'm genuinely not sure what the RB norm is. I thought unit/city gifting was universally banned, while trading things (including cities) for peace is fine. I just need to know because it has a weird ripple effect in-game.

Personally I favor city trading as long as the trades are real trades for the benefit of your civ, not just gifting cities away. Limiting city trading to no more than 1 city traded away per 10 turns could help limit/enforce this. Don't be a jerk. My preference would be to not allow unit gifts.
I'm going to hold off on completing my turn until we decide whether it's ok or not. If someone was already planning to do so, a middle ground would be that we could always grandfather this in in X number of turns. I think in the absence of an existing rule, it would need to be essentially unanimous to make a rule midstream.
Going forward, no unit gifts at all is fine.
