Ruler of Underworld
Horny from Dungeon Keeper 2 comes to mind or Sauron …
A suitable scepter, with horns.
Sky fires:
A meteor shower ... was GE14 already ...
The fortress with dark sky from the intro-movie with some firebolts.
Darkest hour:
The reaper.
Music: Intro music at 0.25x speed. after 0:25
Tree of Knowledge
An apple tree with a snake.
Or another name for this spell?

That works, or a throne with sunrays.
Then we can have the same for Ruler of Underworld except the throne can be more sinister and of course, purple fog instead of sunrays.

A fire giant shooting laser from its eye blasting a big hole in the ground, mecha style.

Darkest hour:
The reaper.

I was planning a clock for this, pointing at hour 13. (and having 18 hours total because there is absolutely no reason a day needs to be 12 or 24 hours in a fantasy world)

How about that thing from the Little Price where the huge trees grow on that tiny planet?

Oh ! My little brother once collected many language versions of this book … The Prince image goes well with anime-style graphics, while Yggdrasil has planes and is from historical mythology, like many things in vanilla. Since it is very easy to create and replace such images, many can be made. One setup could be for old-style graphics and one for anime-style. I see the opportunity for one more button:  >grahics style<. Someone who is blessed with a lot of time could come up with his own graphics for this game …

By not clicking away the Overland Enchantment image as usual and quickly taking a screenshot, I found that the image and text are not centered in and below the frame.
