Turn 11 and 12
I continue our exploration efforts during turn 11 and turn 12. With a better info of our immediate vicinity, I can more accurately plan ahead for the future.
Also I am quite unsure how to proceed with exploration efforts and need to gather my thoughts. (Not ours, I continue to write as though I have a lurker, I do not have one this time around)
First off, exploration and warriors:
My current plan was for the western warrior to swing roughly SE and circle back to escort the settler to his new location of Carthag. Problem is that I have not encountered a CS or even a sign of a fellow player.
There is a good point to be made for the western warrior to continue to push roughly SW, as the coast indicates that the coast will run roughly SW as well, and thus I will somewhen encounter something! The question is where are the damn CS? South? This would suggest that my circle back is the right play, though I would love to eureka writing and thus I need a contact.
The eastern warrior encounters a barb camp which should be cleared with prejudice. I will let him cross the river to scout a bit more and then enter a forest right in time for a discipline fueled attack on the camp. Hopefully the scout which showed up south is not of this camp. Another point for the western warrior to be sent SW though.
Our immeadite vicinity is incredibly lush, this map has clearly been handcrafted, with no tundra or desert in sight so far. To better illustrate my exploration thoughts an overview of the map. Also a probe I did not miss any settlervision indications or even loyalty pressure. Huh. The terrain is rough though as the map is lush, which does not lend itself to a rush at all.
Maybe I should get a quick scout after the settler and before the builder? I need my 2 warriors for barb control.
Military considerations:
Which with few exceptions every player seems to ignore at their peril. If I would settle Cala City first, I could establish a brutal defense line with few ressources. As my Japan game showed you should always expect a rush. Well a turn 60-70 rush. I think all out crazy rushes seem to be a TheArchduke Trademark.
