No lynch is bad because if no lynch wins the wolves get no pressure d1 and town gets no reads. It also absolves you of responsabilities should the lynch be a mislynch, or a wolf.
In the next days people look at your voting trail and your reads to help them determine your innocence or guilt. Not voting at all muddies the water which help the wolves

Given that as a group we have no information at all to work with, any accusations are, of necessity, pure guesswork. I loath to make decisions without information and context. Just to make sure I understand - You’re saying I’m scum throwing accusations around liberally, potentially to serve as distancing?
What’s the irony?
Eh. I just got rid of my sig yesterday. It was my son talkin smack about me tunneling on you and costing town the win. Minor irony.

Heh, so was that the basis for saying I’m accusing liberally, or was that based on you reading the thread?
So the basis was on you accusing people liberally. Like I said, it's as good a reason as any other that's been used so far. Sticking to that idea, it's moving to commodore with his 6 votes (by my count).
Anyway, I checked back and novice had just went after Gaspar when Jabbz made his initial vote on novice. So despite Jabbz saying he's following the flow of conversation, I don't think his initial vote on novice suggests that in any way. I guess he can have a stance of "skip day 1" as town as well, but just skipping player posts completely before making a vote feels very strange.
Skipping day one wasn't my intent :
I was following the flow to the point I made that post however. I popped my vote on the top accuser (not novice, but I fixed after I realized) mostly as a statement of how little opinion I had on anything up to that point.
I've done my best to catch up at this point, though I had to do a decent bit of skimming so I might have missed some details. I really don't like how my absence helped build up momentum on the dolphin. Him getting lynched with me as the afk pivotal vote would have really sucked. I looked and from what I can see the commodore case was pretty weak from the beginning, so I'm surprised it made it into the top 3. With me afk he might have made a nice target for wolves to push.
I'm still a bit rough on the idea of who is scummy sounding or not, so I don't want to put out any evaluations before deadline lest I be offed and they be given any real credibility.

Here's a pretty sure statement that scum didn't know thrawn's role.

I skimmed over his role PM and initially thought it was mutual

Additional to what Adrien said: Lynching someone gives you a chance to kill a danger for town. No lynch robs you of that chance. It moves the power to kill solely to the wolves.
While there might be situations where no lynch is the right course for town (ex: 1 town, 1 SK, 1 Wolf left) Day 1 is absolutely the wrong time for it.
