Your mind is to be trusted, I’d say.
Apparently the term was coined by that great Emperor of your lands two centuries past. Although emperors do tend to take the credit for everything.
I have to run.

My friend, be you!
You needed another's skin!
Roleplay your own mystic self
Bards and Sorcerers are akin.
Indeed my fair friend, we both enjoy a song in t'end.
A song to the end,
unless ye be a munchkin...
“The wind went mute and the trees in the forest stood still. It was time for the last tale.”

It feels to me that you are trying a little too hard. Maybe you feel pressured by the role-play (don't or rather only do if you actually feel like it, there are certainly a few of us who won't or only from time to time when it fits) or maybe you just want to appear engaged.

It's that setting I've seen it used before, but novice brings up a good point.

While that sounds like an upstanding person, my magic goggles tell me you’re mistaken. A grognard is a grouch who complains that everything was better before, and / or in the original edition. For example, a grognard could insist on playing the fourth edition of a game even though newer and shinier versions exist. I know many players here who fit the bill.
That interpretation does seem to fit this setting better, and I'm probably one of those it would fit on. I wonder what their win condition would be...
(Curses that my misspelling has been quoted so many times. Need to spend more time in preview mode.)

Why so soon before the pressure's due?
There's a whole day yet left to rue!
Do you truly think the barbarian might
would wilt so quickly before this swiftly ended fight?
No.
But I fired a shot at almost the same time as our monk (AdrienIer), at the same target, which was not intended.

The Ranger wisely fears the wrath of Rowain
Even so, it’s a tiny tiny munchkin tell on the Ranger.
AdrienIer the monk, you wanted to talk about what the purple role is about, but you didn’t do any research on it. Do you just want something to spend time talking about?
Thrawn the Sourcerer - Maybe I’m a simple mind, but in my opinion, if you’re going to pretend to be someone else, discussing it beforehand sort of ruins the illusion.
I have to run.

Thinking out loud about what a Sourcerer is does seem a little strange, and not very helpful.

I’m a powergamer, but no stinking munchkin.
I can relate to that and will be moving my vote once I find an engaging target and not just the first dogpile that comes along.

Rincewind would be a weird choice as he's a wizzard and not a Sourcerer. Agree that the great Grand Admiral seems a bit off his game here.

the Warlock and the wizard the Cleric and the paladin all have so far not joined our talk. Clearly they want to powerplay / run away with the loot when everyone else is sleeping.

Ser Lewwyn, your verse is a comfort to us all. Ser Adrien, I am pleased to hear you renounce selfishness. Ser…Serdoa I would encourage to leave his locket in his pocket.
It pains me to see that there are some Munchkins not playing by the rules. In the light of Helm’s just gaze, all will become clear and they shall be purged. And rest assured my friends, Ser Gaz de Glum will protect you from these miscreants.
Ser Lewwyn, are you claiming that you can gift another with your silver tongue to improve their standing in our councils?
