The warlock should handle such a scroll well.
And where his loyalties lie is too early to tell
I have to run.

Sorry to hear that you weren't having fun thrawn. I confess I was waiting to hear back from you the entire day, it is unfortunate you only appeared after I left for the day.
As for the loot, my first thought is Gaz. However he doesn't want it and makes a good case for why he shouldn't be given it. I feel pretty good about giving it to the the Monk for now.
The rest I'll save for tomorrow.

Did my previous song not register with you,
where I belatedly did think things through?
The scroll was serendipitously obviously yours
The narrative simply impossible to ignore
But logic prevailed after some reflection
Consider my new vote a course correction.
I have to run.

The real reason I won't take it is because I think it is a very powerful item in a small game. But it cannot be activated before Day 3. Also important - there is no way of faking its use. Scum can't pretend they've spoken with a dead player (which would be a hilarious gambit, trying to mimic them), the player actually returns to the thread for a day. That means there is no downside to giving it to a shady player, but a huge downside giving it to a player who might be nightkilled.
Many of you have spoken highly of Ser de Glum, for which I thank you (though you may think less of me after I murdered an innocent). But I worry that by Day 3 I may be more likely to be in the graveyard than speaking to it. Serdoa might survive, but I would probably feel safer giving the scroll to someone the munchkins are unlikely to want to kill. Perhaps even Rowain!
Two questions:
1) Why do you think this item in particular is powerful?
2) By your logic, would it not also be prudent to think that scum would actively try not to get the item? Because staying alive with it means you either don't count as very townish (something scum tries to avoid) or you do count as townish, which then begs the question why you don't get nightkilled - even more if you have an item on top of your townishness.

to give it to someone we don't fully trust
As then it might stay in the living's possession
Until, through the game's natural progression,
It's usage is called for and agreed to make sense
By anyone left on this side of the fence.
If we do follow through with such an affair
A bonus is that we don't have to declare
All our true feelings about our fellow players
If we fear that's just helpful for nocturnal slayers.

I did skim over that Novice, I was reading before coffee. Apologies.
Ser-Doa, the scroll does not give the Players another vote, but we can pick a strong player who is also a confirmed innocent to help push cases. That is scum's worst nightmare. If your innocence was proved and you came back campaigning loudly against someone, I would find that very useful, and it would help rally other people's votes. I think a confirmed innocent's opinion is about as strong as an unknown alignment's vote.
Do you not think it is very powerful?
Over the long term you might be right about Scum not wanting to hold it, but given the small size of this game I'm assuming that it will probably be used for Day 3, Day 4 at most. So I don't think it will be unused long enough to really make its owner seem suspicious.
Also I suppose scum could take it, not use it and claim that they were 'blocked' by some mysterious power when they tried.
