Well, ljubljiana/Peter reject my Open Borders proposal... this is interesting.
I was almost sure that he will accept but he either want to prevent me to scouting his territory or he's afraid for my units.

Crusade requires faith to spread missionaries. Chances are, you will not be able to convert Russia's cities, making Persia the apparent target. You could take something else, then enhance to crusade, after you spread the religion to make it more of a surprise. Of course it might not be available later.
Random thought: Crusade helps you reconquer your own cities.
You will get cheap aqueducts soon, and you will get an additional amenity if you build next to a Geothermal Vent. Just something to consider if you are settling for the Iron.

Yes - already ljubljiana/Peter picked Defender of the Faith.

Really?
I had no idea about this.
So your advice woult be to settle somewhere in the middle - like in Grassland spot which is on the road, adjacent both to Iron and Geotermal?

You can use the in-game pins to visually plan districts, but as a suggestion
Code: x . C\F . ./.
x . B\I D/.
x . . G\./. .
C - City
F - Iron
B - Roman Bath (+4 Housing, +2 Amenities)
I - Industrial District (+5 adjacency from Bath, Dam, and Iron).
G - Geothermal
D - Dam (built by Resita)
. - tile
/ - river between tiles

I promised myself to take some screenshots on T70 but I forget to do so.
As a summary:
1. Fiereni was founded in location suggested by you - a builder will head soon to improve a little bit the surrounding area;
2. One barbarian camp was cleared but another one just popped in some accessible location. Unfortunately it is accessible for Peter/ljubljana too.
3. My Holy Site was built and now I'm 11 turns from walling my exposed city, which is a must...
4. ... because I feel that a war against Cyrus/Archiduke is inevitable. He settled reaaly aggressively and, in just 3 turns, surpassed me in military score!!
On a general note: I'm quite disappointed by lack of negotiation. Maybe I got too used with Twilight Imperium mechanic but IMHO thrawn is almost unstoppable without a timed alliance against him - but it turned out that I cannot propose something like this to either Russia or Zulu. Even if the last one is still at war with Nubia!!

As promised, here are few recent screenshots.
But, before anything else, I should confess that I started to realize that I was a big idiot. OK, maybe lack of experience explain this somehow but still...
First let's explain which was my idea to approach this game after I saw that the map is a real rich one: to maximize growth of my cities as much as possible in order to be able ~T90-100 to have 2-3 REALLY BIG cities + several others in strategic locations.
For that reason I picked Fertility Rites as my belief and I was aiming for that Religious Building which provide Faith + Food + 1 Housing ( can't remember now the name... ). I even planned/hoped to be able to build Hanging Gardens for this purpose... so naïve...
That's because I didn't realize how fast wars between players will happen!!
As a prove: is just T72 and I felt somehow forced to declare a surprise war against Persia/Archduke... because I'm quite sure that he was on the verge to do the same to me - and at least this way I avoided his units to became superblitzkrieg-able due to his unique Civ-ability.
Nevertheless, the units mobilized for war in West are ( still ) few... is more a desperate attempt to orchestrate a pre-emptive action than anything else.
Below is a screenshot of my capital in T72... is weird - I took 3 more screenshots but apparently they get lost!!
I assume that this is a clear example of getting lost in tech.
I feel that my situation is getting from mediocre to bad quite rapidly.

I spot 2 archers from Archduke last turn - which make me think that I'd be DoW-ed anyway soon...
Let's hope that my attack would bring me few additional turns to prepare the defensive.
Anyway, it will be a life & death war not just a limited skirmish...

I'm not familiar with Twillight Imperium, how does their in-game diplomacy compare with Civ VI?
Reading through these games, ad-hoc civ diplomacy reminds me of Contract bridge, except there are no published conventions. Fish for a fish? What does that mean?

Well - it's a boardgame which eventually has also an online implementation so all diplomacy goes naturally: like here is a line, don't cross it, these are my hexes, Thrawn/Nubia is biggest danger and so on.
But here is quite impossible.
OK, back to our sheep ( purely Romanian expression, translated literally ): I lost an archer and probably a legion ( need to check next save for this ) but gain 3-4 turns to put some defense on my two border-cities and to gather more units from "barbarian search&destroy" mission. We will what's next.
Estimated/seen Archduke' units: 3 archers, 2 warriors ( both wounded ) and 1 horseman ( also wounded ).
