(October 28th, 2020, 02:06)novice Wrote: Thoughts on some players:

Rowain: Aggressively defensive, scumhunting is limited to calling everyone who suspects him scum.

Superdeath: I think he's just not making much of an effort, but sadly I don't think it means he's more likely than average to be scum. From what I gather he plays every game on this forum and clearly can't or won't be putting as much effort into each game as us powergamers.

Lewwyn: All the singing means less shouting, but he's actually engaging with a lot of players, so within the restriction he's made for himself he's making a good effort. All well within his scum range of course, as we always say. But I have nothing damning on him.

Pindicator: Hmm, yeah, I could see him as scum. (Let's lynch him tomorrow.) But seriously, he just thanked Superdeath for a clarification that was not the least bit clarifying to me, at least.

Gazglum: Saying that the Rowain/Novice show must be resolved today is an interesting stance. It's not like we have a lot of mislynches to waste, are you so sure one of us is scum?

I do not like this post, I like it not at all.
Our squire says of Superdeath, not more likely to be scum
Yet hours on he puts his vote, and says his day is done.
It is a pattern we can see, the Novice hunts small game
Superdeath, Pindi and Savant, he only flirts towards Rowain.

Our ship of fools it lies becalmed, without leaders pushing motion
As though a painted ship, upon a painted ocean
In times like these, Glum fears the town elite,
Yet Novice will not look their way, he sees no issue in Lewwyn's play,
He pokes, he prods, he says his piece, he gently glides away.

He says we are a strange town indeed, not willing to plunge the knife.
I will plunge it sir, I am not afeared, to take another's life.
And I remind us again, we have the scroll, can afford to take a chance.
We kill a vet in error? Oops-a-day! We can bring them back into the dance.

Not going to quote every single post to answer them, but here is the explanation:

I was watching a show ( the Rising of the Shield Hero, good anime ) while typing out my thoughts on Serdoa's apparent post restriction. My attempt to clarify afterwords apparently was not placed how i wanted it to be. So basically i thought that the only classes which could have a power to give someone a post restriction would have to be Rogue, Monk, or Barbarian for reasons that i explained already. While a rogue would certainly be the 1st choice out of those to have such a sneaky/pain in the ass power, Serdoa likely wouldnt give it to himself unless he is pulling a 500 IQ move. So i reasoned that the Barbarian would be more likely to have some sort of Strongman or "if killed, doesnt die for an extra day" or something to that effect rather than what i mentioned as a "blinded by rage/ect".. So i moved directly to the last remaining class that fit the bill much more perfectly. Monk. Being restricted to JUST voting as your only means of communicating for a period of time sounds exactly like a Meditating power.

So i voted for the Monk to show that was my final reasoning. The clarification post is because i had typed the words in the wrong order/ect and wanted to well... Clarify that while it WOULD be a 500 iq move, i did strongly doubt that Serdoa would do that to himself.

Also i wouldnt say ive been skating by when it comes to posting. Ive posted every time i get off work, and im not playing the 5 civ games im in.

I stayed on superdeath with my night vote because it looked like the situation was stable and I didn't want to allow for a last minute weirdness (if Serdoa had been nightkilled I thought the superdeath choice wasn't bad).
AdrienIer

Did i miss why no one asked  why he wont scumhunt tonight? That doesnt sound very Hero-like to me.

superdeath: I have no flipping idea what that logic is of yours superdeath. Is this superdeath being superdeath or scum superdeath doing a terrible job of playing scum? I'm so lost I don't even know where to begin... The fact that Tarkeel was killed overnight while spending the whole day on you makes me very suspicious as well. What do you have to say to that superdeath?

pindicator: Your case on Lewwyn is shocking, not going to lie. Just giving up as well is incredibly scummy. Did you not learn from last game that this is not good for town?

Gaz: I really don't like that post implying the day would be between novice v Rowain. The post itself is fine to start the day with but it was made 6 hours after SD made his ridiculous claims, I can believe 1-2 hours if you are multitasking but not 6. You then came out saying the SD's posts were terrible only after Adrien & Serdoa hammered on him. Gaz, are you going to claim you missed superdeath's earlier posts after they had been up for several hours?

I don't see myself voting for anyone else at the moment. Gazglum for now until he responds.

I hope this helped clarify what i meant
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

But genuine I find my curse makes it hard for me to play.

I will say this - Lewwyn says The Glum doth show much patience?
I put to him, right back at ya, where are his hammer cases?
I am imprisoned by my honeyed tongue.
He is not, he plays for fun.

So now you you will come back to rowain later in the day?
you say the curse makes it hard to play?
But tell me ser, does my curse make it hard to read?
because while posting might be cumbersome your thoughts should be freed.

You attack me ser gazglum
for not hammering away
but I seem to see the day's not done
and night is not near sway

The day is still for gathering
you yourself have been
not around enough to talk a lot
and now I don't like what I have seen

I hope you know, Fighter Sus, that whatever team he's on,
Ser Gaz de Glum would never dream to refuse the gift of song.

You've moaned about your curse
but then you say you'd never stop
You imply that I'm hiding in my rhymes
but then you won't let it drop

Why is it not the same for me?
That I love my gift?
The game is fun and clearly
people get my drift.

No one has really asked for clarification
the way they've asked of you
I've striven for elaboration
and making my point ring true.

It's a double standard then
I made a promise to myself
I think you understand me when
I say my rhymes will not go back upon the shelf

But really this last post takes the cake
A really slimy take:

First you say my play is stale
and novice should see it too
not only do you smear the one
but you get me too.

Now I do not know novice's creed
but I do know mine.
My thoughts are fully freed
and I think you're still hiding thine.

Specifically I take umbrage with
the last 2 lines you write
You state it doesn't matter if we kill a vet
he can come back the next night!

BUt Man that is still a mislynch
Scum would be so pleased
You are truly too cavalier
and the village you would have fleeced.

If we can afford to roll the dice
and lynch someone of veteran stature
Would you volunteer to step in the vise
and have your neck suffer fracture?

Gazglum I call you out
you've been entirely to wily
I think you've enjoyed the poetry
so you can hide your actions vilely

I regret the gift I gave
because the consequences seem quite grave.

And once again let me reiterate
that just because the dead can speak
it does not make them more literate
or give them a vote with which to wreak
the havoc that a munchkin rates.

Gazglum's idea is quite flawed
Our votes DO MATTER
for every step we claw.

It seems that I am spoiled for choice
I know not which way to spar
Rowain, SD, pindicator, Gazglum
have all pinged my scumdar.

I go to put my daughter to bed
and prepare my classes for next morn
I hope to soon rest my head
But I'll poke my head back in before bedtimes horn.

Maybe you are sleepy
I'll try to condense succinctly

Gazglum calls me out for staying in rhyme,
but when offered the chance to break the restriction
he turns it down because he enjoys it
and yet he complains he's slowed by the affliction

Beyond that his play has been subpar
his arguments more vague and thoughts unfree
he is not rushed into specifics
and tarries on certain reads

This stanza specifically tips my suspicion
I think everyone who votes is willing to plunge the knife
that's literally what voting does
and you can see the village is rife.

His attitude right here
is very cavalier
he's not afraid to make a mistake
because he implies there's less at stake!

If we kill an innocent in error we bring them back!
but this is not really a true fact.
They are brought back to chat for a time
but they cannot vote, at best they mime.

Even if they return to say who they think is scum
they may not be right, though hopefully they point out gazglum

I am not afraid to lynch anyone that I believe is evil
but gazglum suggests it matters not when
truly in a mislych scum will revel.
