Charlemagne is one of my favorite leaders in CtH right now. Obviously I'm playing him in 78, but I think the combo is just super good, particularly when you've got an island like that. Celts is interesting, I considered it in my game, but I put it below Spain and Aztec. For this start and with Charlemagne I agree with not either of those though. You don't have fish only clams, and you're not SPI which dampens Aztec whip fun. But you've also got stone there so it certainly factors into the Dun viability, very cool.

Thanks lewwyn, i wanted to try Charly to test PRO, and to try a totally different play than i ve already tried. Also because this was supposed to be a bigger map, so that extra defense i felt like it was important, since im one of the worse of this game. Lets se how things go. Keep tunned in here!
I looked at the original screenshot again and see what you mean. Sorry for the confusion. In my defense the scout wast partially hidden behind the sign. I agree on moving North to see Ruff's land. The exact moves I leave to you who can see better=)
That also means that there might be a larger distance between us which is nice. Would be good to know exactly how much.

Basely nothing but another plains hill to where i want to move right now. And we should see Ruff there. On this turn Borthers pop so maybe we can even see it already without moving the scouts. edit: Nvm it didnt end turn so im logging quit to show it

I just saw i didnt say anything of the mates of this game. Im pretty new to this forum and this MP game so i will probably be wrong, so feel free to correct me.

But Mackoti is a leyend in this forum, he hasnt been really active in reporting some games, but if he helps gira i feel they are going to be really dangerous. Amicalola with tarkeel, i dodnt heard of him much, but i saw him in several lurkers thread showing a good knowledge of the game. Amicalola is new to MP but not as skilled as others. 3 New on MP but good players Lazteuq, did a really good game on PB51, he had a lot of input on early of Refsteel but he ended up pretty alone with a large empire. Mjmd, didnt make a great game on PB51 but he learned a lot and ended up "almost" won on PB52 and doing great on PB54, he is pretty active and knowing well the game on SP, he took a lot of lessons on MP so i was doubting into putting him on the 1group. Civac2, he is really active in the forum and doing good on PB55, i feel he is a really good player eventhough is new to MP. 4 Good players, but i hope that less dangerous Ruff, he warmed up on PB54 after a long time without CivIV and GKC told me to be afraid of him. He might be a bit upset with me because of PB54:/ Jowy, did a good game on PB52 and im a bit lost of his play on PB55 so i cant say much. Finally the picks, SittingBull of Byzantium, I feel this combination a bit weird since byzantium sounds to me to a Cataphract rush, and making a good empire with imp and having some bonnus to get stables sounds nice to me. But phy might help him getting bulbs to get quickly guilds and make the rush, also PRO could grant some more money. So i guess is fine, but not as good as with imp? Gilga of Carthage, I wanted to play gilga on PB54, since im new to this game and city planning was 1 of my main concerns. But with it nerfed and the help of a vet i feel it kind of useless. I know he has no vet as dedlurk but he is vet so i dont see the good point of cre. Pro with cartage works really nice, we saw it on PB52, PB53 for example. I think it would have been better with Mao or Churchill. Cath of Mongolia, I have the same feeling with cre, i think cyrus would have been a better choice but again, the wombo is IMP with Ger and Keshiks, i thought it wouldnt work as easy as it would (in a good hands) on PB54 but if they are as close of someone as we are from Ruff it should be fine. Vicky of England, England has a good UU but as i saw on PB52 those are not as good as on SP, but still the UB works nice with FIN. So i think is a good pairing. WangKong of Spain, i like this pairing, pro boost the UB of spain and the UU of sapin is nice too, the only problem it would be the slow starting tech, but in CtH is not as bad as on BTS. So i think is nice. Willem of China, the same thinking of CRE, Noble is still one of the best players of the game so im sure he is seeing something i dont, but wouldnt be better Pacal or Hanibal? Chinas UU is great and dangerous to play against, im glad to have celts to be a bit save somehow of the chokonus. I hope not to look to juicy for him. Gengis of Rome, well i think he has some memories of PB51 and wants to make some pain on someone. Still i dont feel Rome is a good civ. It doesnt match me on what he has been playing and his playing stile. But lets talk about the pick. It looks like the bloodthirst combination, having cheap units and with 1 promo, and one of the most dangerous UU of earlish game with cheap GG and cheap settlers look nice, but has no economy at all, he has mo make gains on the early or will probably fall. Lets hope he is not our second neighbour. Suli of Khemer, looks nice to me i dont really know how to make profit of phy but civac is so much better player than me, and i think he does know how to make it work. I think is also very playable on diferent ways, you can try to go quick on getting stuff going with imp and settlers (ElGrillo on PB54) and then having a nice defensive UU like Cairo did on PB53, or you can go some more agro like Jowy did on PB52. Pretty flexible. Washington of Ottomans, i think he want to make the play of Commodore on PB53, having a exp lead to expand fast and looking on having some boost on hammans also with a good UU in some cases. Nebu of Inca. Knowing the game on PB54 and how well Cornflakes did with Nebu, i feel this pairing really fits into his playing stile, he will search for wonders at the same time will expand asap, to get a huge economy that will beat anyones, the only play to counter him will be dont let him free early or manage to break some of the cities with wonders. Im really curious if he will make it work. (Im afraid he will) |
