Distance maintenance increases with every 4.5 distance as I understand it. That city is just below the limit.

Turn 9

Ruff took Meditation this turn so founded buddism, i hope it spreads to us since we are close.

not much to add. Maybe we would need the scout over the warrior if we want to see all of them. But its true that having 2 cities with no warriors is pure danger. So i ll go warrior.

Turn 10

Again Amicalola took a tech, i think he took hunting.

And the scout revealed a corn. so i marked a possible city, but pending on keep scouting.

   

On the next turn i think we sould move the scout 2W

That seems slightly weird from Ruff in my eyes. He has no worker techs at the moment. First he will need the techs to improve his capitol and then BW for defense and chopping all the forests we see. I predict his start will be slow to bronze working and city 2. I guess he has at least a fish if not more and started by going fishing boats first. Then he should have higher commerce than us grow soon. So look out for that. This is good for us, we should not expect any early military from that quarter.

The northwestern river valley looks good as well. Maybe the map is designed so that we have another neighbor along that valley as with Ruff. Maybe scout west, west and then north, north to get to the hill in 2 turns.

do you think its better to go to that hill instead of keep the circle?

Turn 11

I decided to go 2W since we could still go to the hill next turn and this way we have 1 tile more of vision. But i still think it would be better to end the circle before trying to see further. 

   

I ve been thinking about slavery and i think we wont make whips to make the third settler, so maybe the turn we get the settler out would be the moment to enter into slavery.

Demos: Surprising news to be first on hammers, i thought our route of worker warrior was pretty much standard, and it seems some people prefere to grow to hell 10 food already turn 11 seems too much to me.

10 food is probably workboat start for fish + 3 food tile at 2 pop.

My idea was to go to that hill for a slightly wider circle. It works fine either way.
