[Mjmd #56 no players] One ring to find them

Updated map. All kinds of awkward where do I settle decisions mainly revolving around sharing food and instant trade connection / that damn plains forest on the river that would be perfect but delays me by a turn. Will do some micro tomorrow just to confirm if I can do faster than T27 settler (doubt it), but will probably leave dot map decisions until see copper.

As you c an see there is a food void NE that is going to favor the celts. Would love a city between wet corn and plains cow as that is halfway and opens up a transition city NE. Will of course see how south looks. Also, look at all that green and a lack of hills! Stupid pick order not making me be higher for Victoria. Also, boo celts starting with stone. Map makers should not place stone or marble in the bfc.

Scouting plan is to go back east a turn and a half and then head south.

Agree that capital stone is unfortunate, moreso if not everybody has it (mind we have secure marble, but that could not inform our pick).

I'm also surprised at how flat the land has been so far. I think that was one of the more widespread critiques of the PB53 map, but SD seems to double down on it? (within his rights of course)
Alll that corn... I hear there is a lot of that in Iowa as well.

Else yeah let's dotmap once we know more about the south. And don't be too sad about Vicky cheating on you; we still have awesome 2pop settler whips, which wiill work great here, and maybe lots of green rivers can also mean that with strong expansion we'll have enough room for cottage paradises that we can get by without Fin well enough? (while enjoying what Agg has to offer hammer)

That is Kansas. The northern half of Nebraska has small hills and valleys. Here is proof from my recent trip. I can confirm Iowa is very very slightly more interesting. Both grow a lot of corn and it makes the drive boring.

Pretty sure in Civ terms that there is "plains".

Old Thoth wouldn't let a flatness discussion go by without some sort of...other...interjection.  shakehead

I mean its not a truly hilly terrain. But the valleys were prob 30 ft deep. It is definitely a plains though. It is possible I would describe Iowa as a grassland although somewhere in between might be more accurate. It probably does look better when its not all dormant to be fair.

Anyways Mig I need you to tell me to scout where I know I should scout next turn. There are no resources west of the "I wanna" spot, so it isn't like I care if he settles that hill vs say the one south of the wine. I think its more important to go back south for city planning and then go meet people elsewhere mainly in the hopes of some very minor KTB boost.

Edit: I almost forgot to end turn and log out again. Checked log just out of habit and someone already founded buddhism! Ruff I think based on water start and when point increase occurred. Doing the whole Spain thing.

I would als wanna. I think it makes sense to know the layout of the border region / his land, we may want to march through at some point after all. And it's only turn 14, plenty of time to finish the circle (or get eaten).
