Nah ... was just testing those apps. I actually appreciated that you were in-game so that I had a real test.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

its t50! ( or past it now... ) If you guys could, please tell me any/all good/bad things about the map and how i could improve in your eyes on future mapmaking. All feedback appreciated!
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."
-Old Harry. PB48.
windows 10 had a little bit of a fit about this, but calmed down after I said OK
didn't seem to be any quicker in the log in
wouldn't connect to Serdoa who just happened to be in the game (my normal start method wouldn't connect either)
I observed on several fresh Win10 installations that the wrapper does not working for some weeks, but after some time it does.
I never found out why, but an user in our forum gave this advice a few days ago:
Quote:I had the same problem. In my case it was the "Hidden Intrusion Protection" functionality of the firewall. Apparently it prevented the wrapper from creating the savegame file. It was all pretty hidden, but after creating a sharing rule for the wrapper, it worked.
It would be nice if you could try this out for confirmation. (*)
But I don't think it's so bad if it doesn't work for you.
In this game the login doesn't take very long even without wrapper.
It was programmed for games like PB88 where the login without wrapper now takes >6 minutes because the game save is so big.

no UAC (that is nice!)

If this does not work I assume that Serdoa not using the 2015exe (or host-file changes).
(*) If it still not works: I've programmed an other approach for the fast login. It does not change the Civ4:BTS executable, but needs an other installed program (winfsp).
(Translation from this post).
In case anyone wants to give it a try to the people for whom the wrapper doesn't work, I'm attaching my prototype here.
Instructions:
0. install Winfsp. This allows programs to create/mount virtual filesystems.
1. Unzip the two files. (Location does not matter.)
2. click on the unzipped exe. A terminal window should appear and the Z: drive should be mounted in Windows Explorer.
3. start Civ4:BTS (without BTS_Wrapper.exe!) and log into a PB. To avoid blocking other players you should take the 2015 exe.
Example arguments when calling the game:
Code (your variant with the ini-param is also ok):
Code:
[...]\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword2015.exe" mod="PB Mod_v9"
4. at the end just close the terminal window. The Z: drive will then disappear.
