Manchin is going to be the toughest Senator to keep consistently on-side, but you'll see Tester (MT) and Sinema (AZ) make some noise at times for sure.

Part of the question for how much the Senate gets done is what all gets put on tracks that let them avoid the filibuster. Appointments won't be an issue, and neither will the Congressional Review Act (which can be used to undo a lot of late-2020 and 2021 Trump regulations) - the big question is what all gets covered by reconciliation (some big ticket items, including the Trump tax cuts and either the ACA itself or some of its changes, went through this).

The House is going to be very interesting, because the Dem majority is so small there, too.

Trump really behaves like a mobster, now he is throwing Pence under the boss who has always supported him (at least publicly). It's fascinating that there are still people out there that believe Trump cares about anything but himself.

If Manchin understood how patronage worked, West Virginia would be the best state in the world in the next two years. I think Jim Clyburn might be the only politician working who actually understands all of that, though.

This might turn violent. The Republican protestors have stormed the Capitol Building and are inside.

If these were black protestors storming the Capitol, they would probably all be shot.

For sure. Maybe general leftist protestors too. Cops being essentially partisan is kind of a problem.

Next steps:

- Occupy Capitol
- Declare that Senate obviously is not able to do the work they are elected for so they have to be replaced
- Replace with Trump-fanboys
- Declare Trump winner of the presidential election

I'm a pretty pessimistic guy so I just hope I'm wrong on these predictions...

I like to hope the average American is engaged enough to at least stop that from happening.

NEVER underestimate American stupidity!!!

Also, historically this has happened in other countries. Usually you need military support OR a weakened military occupied elsewhere as well though. You would also need more state support than I think would actually happen. But again never underestimate American stupidity.
