Trump starts his message to persuade people to go home with "this was stolen from us"...... I think he almost made it 6 sentences in the middle without claiming election was fraudulent.... Also, something about "see how others that are so bad and so evil are treated"; is he trying to equate this with black lives matter protests or ???? I'm just so confused at the ending..... Also, media is lauding this as him trying to persuade people, but um...... when you keep making the false claims that got them there in your video trying to persuade them to go home one has to wonder......

Somewhere out there there's a US court clerk going "oh maaaaan, all these felony charges are going to really spoil my bureaucratic 3-hour-workweek".
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

He doesn't want them to go home. He's the one who sent them there in the first place. He just needs to do his due diligence so he can say he didn't incite violence.

I suppose if there's a silver lining to today, it's that the combination of the Democrats taking the senate combined with the savagery on display from the Capitol rioters will likely help discredit Trumpism as a political force.

Remember Georgia just had a senate election where he had just been revealed to be trying to solicit election fraud (edit: and both senators had agreed to try to overturn today). And the democratic candidates SQEUAKED a win. Just like general election where he got increased turnout. I don't pretend to understand it, but I am not confident in the American's peoples ability to denounce this firmly ......

Ah, but Trump drove up turnout even more for the Democrats; it's not like Biden's exactly a rockstar who was going to drum up record-breaking numbers on his own.

I don't have much faith in the decency or competency of the American public, but I do think Trump's cult has limited growth potential.

Your right on all counts. However, American public is lazy and has a poor memory. I don't have faith that they will keep up their anti-trump energy. You can say many things about Trump, but he certainly energizes a segment of America in a disturbingly faithful fervor.

There's a real chance that Trump gets impeached tomorrow over this. I'm not saying it's especially likely, but it's non-zero - maybe 5-15%.

If Trump runs in 2024 and is nominee, this is very bad for him.
If not no one will care by that time

I don't think he'll declare before 2022, because unless Biden runs again, he'll be too old.
