Pindore and Commodicator are Closing towards Home

Bad news, gang, Amicalola hasn't taken anything yet. Must be stalled, given the nearness of the border? We are about to be able to put the capital under extreme threat, but don't need Jowy's gigantic northern garrisons coming down.

Okay, here's the chance, Jowy. You can retake Grouse, you feel up for it? Because if I cap a city next turn we're looking at a wave of knights ending EoT.

Still healing in front of Jowy's massive pile o' bows, now with knights incoming.

Gavagai is still waiting to play after us each turn, so might go slamming into the rear now that he's peaced out with Civac...who is now going to be able to leverage a Taj build into a win even sillier than before.

Lewwyn playing the same time I was, we basically were both like "so who is holding out here". Can the lurkers please bully the holdout(s), maybe by continuously requesting demo screens, until he/they concede?

It looks like everybody is going to be joining him on a massive dog pile of Rome. I don't expect it to have much success but if literally every single other player attacks him then I guess...

Need to figure out how to invade this properly. I suspect the winning move is probably "bypass forward castle defenses" if nothing else. Have a pitiful little navy of four galleys who can knock on the door of that island city, still that's enough if loaded with guns to tie up a lot of defenders.


Guns you say? Well, Lewwyn is providing the butter:

Banking is going to pay dividends, which is nice...nothing nearly as nice as the horror that is the Roman economy.

Civac is probably a little more jumpy about Amicalola than us, this is a doable underbelly. No idea how this goes. Gavagai and Lewwyn have joined the countdown, too.


If I seem cynical it's not that I don't think this dogpile can work. Civac is in a long series of Taj-and-MoM golden ages, but in terms of tech that means he's only really up drafting muskets; nice, but nothing that is impossible to overcome. Being hit on three sides with big armies isn't something he can withstand. My main concern is, as always, defection. Let's say we all attack, each person takes three cities. His little number now shows "21" and we all have more cities than he does. Nice little influx of capture gold came in, able to research a tech here or there...okay, this is cool. But what happens next?

1. Well, Superdeath is out of this, so his main incentive is to screw around and attack Lewwyn. Okay, Lewwyn is out, but he's the farthest fighter, just really here to pick up a few island cities. No big deal.

2. Jowy has the second-best GNP and huge stacks of largely medieval junk. So wat do? "Why, let's retake our lost cities while Commodore and Amicalola are distracted! It's a great plan, it's how I win!" Well, I'm willing to hand back my captive city, but if he moves into my core, I'm wheeling around and asking for peace with civac to fight Jowy. And I'm pretty sure that's Amicalola's play, too.

3. Even if Jowy keeps it in his pants while we beat up the game leader, Civac can choose a front to focus on, he's got vast crumple zones and so let's say he lets Gavagai move deep while fending off Amicalola/us...Gavagai is piling up massive cities, we're taking losses and gaining war weariness (terrible mechanic, again)...the incentive is to peace out with civac while Gav waxes strong. Same deal in the other direction, maybe Verdun is the Hindu shrine, Gavagai might decide it's not worth it while Teams Red and Peach go gangbusters.

4. The main issue is that Civac has snowballed. Tech is huge at this point, the only way Civac doesn't win this game is if his armies are all crushed, his fields are all pillaged, and his spine is ripped out of his back. That is a huge order at this tech level. Destroying Civac is a grinding task on the order of dozens of turns. Are we all willing to put in the effort to hurl troops into the meatgrinder turn after turn, without defecting? After ten turns? After twenty? Can Jowy keep himself from breaking this up that long? This is a lot of contingent ifs.

Clearly, vast profits are here to be made, look for how vulnerable this island is.

This will be a great victory, how can someone face this many attackers?

I'm guessing that was the official concede statement and we're just playing until all the other teams realize what's up?

I dont know man if the others commit enough he might be take enough back so others have chanse.Cannons must be produced and after get togheder, while your stacks are others are togheder,  I presume.Dont let the german dude to won here  .

The truth is he played a very good game, but I realy like people tring something before concede.
