I think we go settle the DZ spot with that remaining settler. We have enough units lying around and it's a good staging area for a future war. Would make it easier to move in on multiple fronts for speed. He'll not like it, but surely he's our target anyway.*
I removed a worker build.
*Hitting civac has priority too, but I think it's ok to wait for drafting advantage first and gobble up DZ now. We'll be quick to nationalism.
edit I like double-bulbing education this game. Possibly even taking nationalism with lib over teching it ourselves, but still undecided on that.

Ok this is unfortunate:
I was quite certain that an enclosed tile would flip, had read so a short while ago, and nobody objected when I wrote it would. Does it just happen next turn? I'm wondering whether it makes sense to delay the chop a turn. Seems like my numbers where off and we were not going to finish the build this turn anyways.
We could also run 2 artists to get the CE in Marinheiro this turn, together with the fresh library, if the tile will not flip. But that is atthe expense of 2 supercoast tiles (in order to make them more super).
edit: I tested it in WB and enclosed tiles would be absorbed into culture as I expected. MAybe it's a Pitboss thing, where it only happens the turn after? In that case I will hold off with the chop until next turn. Not spending the worker turn yet, if there are differing opinions.
Oh yes and I forgot to whip before revolting to caste, but it isn't too bad, and maybe even better.

The library? Sucks that we didn't start on Moai last turn though -- we had stone already.
Did you not whip the lighthouses either?

No the library had been whipped last turn already. I had wanted to whip the lighthouses on the coppercorn islands, but they finish in time naturally, anyways.
Starting Moai earlier wouldn't have sped up the build, would it? Delaying just increased the whip OF on the library, which then goes through the same multiplier as if we had channelled the hammers directly into Moai.
Do you agree with getting the GS in Maré? It takes 7 turns, then on the 8th we bulb and adopt Pacifism (together with HR/vassalage/slavery). That does work, right? And the scientist does bulb the whole tech him alone, correct?
Corta Cana and Paraná get just under 200 GPP, then on the last turn they go max spec, and finish after the GA.
Micro note: Paraná gets its food back next turn, after Viola has grown. We kinda want a Confu monastery, but both cities are busy with specs. Paraná could get it slowly, do we do that? Or just ignore it? But if we are going to pay the Pacifism penalty surely we'll want to spread it...?
Bit of GA showoff!
before / after hitting the button / after assigning tiles and specialists*
* I'm a bit shocked by how much worse 3 looks in comparison to 2, but I don't think I missed anything.
That coast!

Yeah, nevermind. From what you wrote earlier I was worried the library was not whipped and still in queue.

I'm not sure we want to complete the CC GP just yet. The city is set up to produce a non-GS to secure a later golden age. It will just sit idle and increase the GPP bar for our other cities. Unless you have concrete plans for it I wouldn't finish it. Delaying a CC GP makes it easier to get a GS for education and so on (first to bonuses).
I'll look more closely on the GPP stuff when I log in, but if we don't want to produce one from CC then it's best if we can get that GS in 6 turns instead (to fill CC's bar without spawning the GP).
There are plenty of weird pitboss interactions, but I don't see why what you suggested wouldn't work.
GS bulb gives 1500+ 3x total population. It covers the whole cost of philosophy IIRC.

Removing the merchants in CC. If we elect to run specialists in that city during the GA we can wait a turn or two at least and let it grow first. I don't think this GP is needed (as mentioned above). We can just as easily spread religion there and complete it during normal turns (yes, I agree with a monastery to spread our faith). I starved Paranaue a little extra this turn to enable some other stuff -- it can take some farms back later.
Your thoughts on the culture things seems right. It will probably happen end of this turn.

Moai incoming, and we had the forest in culture this turn
Commodore offers fish/fish, with Stop Trading with TBS included on our side. TBS is very likely the emerging superpower on that continent, to nobody's surprise and against Commodore's best efforts. He's in his first MoM GA right now (and probably can run a path where he avoids Nationalism long enough to get at least 2 more out of it).
I do like our trades with TBS though. We're getting a 4c TR in Bonfim out of it, and the spice/silk trade is very valuable and in fact lopsided for us. I don't think it's our responsibility to hem our game in order to obstruct the hegemon 2 continents away, moreso considering we have the world food leader on ours. Oh yes, civac conquered AT's capital and is at 25 cities now
More foreign news, we got graphs on Ramk, and while I had feared that he would have got into a semi dominant position on their continent having razed all those Mjmd cities, it turns out that he's actually doing worse than Mjmd, and the war (fought without HAs or cats) was a mutual setback, as it should be. Rusten already has speculated about expanding that way eventually, and this makes that idea appear somewhat feasible.

Ok this sounds good. So we get the Philo GS in Paranauê more or less asap, then one in Maré some time after the GA, another one in Paranauê (also kickcstarted during the GA already), and finally the GM/GE in Corta Cana.
If we double bulb edu, we then still need a GS/GP/GA for the second GA, but I guess Paranauê can do that, possibly with NE at that point. If all goes to plan we have the Taj GA as the second one, and it becomes trivial.
I'm not 100% convinced yet that the Lib->Nat play is wise instead of direct Nat. But if I'm counting right it's just about 300 beakers more expensive with the bulb, and we have reasons to expect that we'll have the best economy around then (although somebody who never goes to all out war might be doing better). With alphabet we'll have a rather clear view how the race stands, although we might not even have contact yet to possible contenders like mackoti or Frozen. I like that it opens Economics (the merchant would be sweet, but Free Market alone seems like the only civic in that column that's even worthwhile for us), Printing Press and ultimately Communism.
It would suck to lose the Lib race and then stand there without Nat.
After guilds, research straight in that direction? Or would you want to clear Gunpowder, Banking, or Engineering first? I think we really want Musketeers only once we can draft them. Engineering I always hate to delay, but with multiple races we might end up with it coming pretty late.

I'm not convinced we want to rush towards liberalism either, I haven't decided what I prefer. But either way I think we should aim to bulb education.
We can cross that bridge when we get there. Short term just accrue GPP and reach guilds.

You're probably writing a turn report right now so it might crosspost, but I changed some scientists in Mare to coast. It couldn't sustain current pace for all of the GA and we want to run the most scientists for our 2 pacifism turns (in addition to GA boost). I believe we're on the same page about getting the 1st GS from Paranaue. We're also running 100% science this turn so we get some use out of the library.
I was a little 'meh' on the Marinheiro market, but I suppose the happiness isn't bad there as an extra incentive so I kept it.
