[PB60] Lazteuq and Civac

I have changed the micro a bit. Lakamha takes one of the plains hill mines from Tikal to get the granary online faster (not right now, but on certain turns down the line). Tikal makes do with assorted plains hill forstes, lake tiles or bare plains hills. This doesn't slow down anything just reduces the overflow.

@Lazteuq: I noticed your sign about switching the chopped tile to Chichen Itza. If you have a situation where a chop needs to go to a certain city and you can't switch beforehand (for instance it is to go to a new city or another city uses the forest like in this case) you should absolutely cancel the worker action. This reduces the likelihood of an error substantially. Cancelling worker actions is also useful when there are barbarians/opponent units nearby so you can react in time.

Thanks for the tip. Micro is working according to plan.
I really like how the timing in perfect for completing the gold road when Chichen's borders expand.
What do you think worker4 should do? We are able to build cottages, but I really doubt that's a good idea. I was thinking of building a road northwest from the capitol. That city spot straight north of the capitol with double fish will be really good once we can get 2 workboats ready for it. It will be able to work gold perpetually and still have food for whipping.

I think it's strange we haven't met Mjmd or Superdeath yet. They should be to our south and southeast.

I considered building another mine on its current position so that the new island city can take one of the mines and Mutal can take the new one. But that is too inefficient.

We should either build a 3-tile road from the deer tile to the mine S-S of Mutal. Or road into the flood plain valley. It is maybe a bit early for the flood plain valley road. So I would build a road on the deer tile east of the capital. The advantage is that the worker whipped in Chichen Itza will able to road on Mutal-SE without losing time. Then we can road to the pigs. (Or perhaps the clam/wheat spot first?)

In the south, I would make at least one cottage on the tile N-N of Uxmal. Three cities can work it. We need a bunch of cottages soon. There are expensive techs we need pretty badly, Monotheism, Monarchy, Iron Working, Currency.

Would you be willing to consider pulling the warrior guarding the south (near the plains forest deer) back?

That road plan makes sense to me. We don't actually need those roads to have copper and gold connected though, right? I think they will connect once the mines have roads since they're along the shore of the lake. Anyway, I don't want to road to the clam/wheat since we won't have Agri for a while. Those two sites on the northern coast should be good though. I think the road should stay on the north side of the river all the way so we don't have any river crossings.
Why do you say we need Iron Working early? I usually neglect IW for a long time.
I'm fine with bringing that southern warrior back. The only reason I have to keep him farther south is to improve our chances of meeting Mjmd or Superdeath.
I think GKC is spending a lot of EP on us by choice, not by chance. I think he's pretty suspicious of me from prior experiences.

Nvm. You can leave the warrior where it is. I only want one warrior to scout the edges of the island when we settle there for more seafood but there is a new one which can do this.

Yeah we get trade routes to all initial 6 cities over coast and rivers. But these roads also speed up unit movement. Iron Working is necesary for psuhing into the jungle areas. They are too good not to expand there.

We just met Mmd AND superdeathin the last couple turns! Superdeath is the closer one, he's to our southeast, opposite from Amica/Van.
4/5 of our rivals have Sailing already so the KTB is pretty significant. We can complete it easily in 5 turns at 100% now, so I turned on research. Lakhama should be able to start a galley on T62, Maybe we should delay Lakhama's granary whip so we can overflow directly into a galley on the turn Sailing completes. I didn't do the math, but the timing looks pretty good for a settler coming out of the capitol and boarding the galley on T65-ish.

Superdeath is sendng a war chariot down toward Mjmd apparently. We're lucky he didn't do that to us (yet).

I have Uxmal whip a galley on turn 62. Didn't consider Sailing may not be done by that point. It probably will be though. Cities grow into more commerce tile. We also get another commerce from the horses. It's close though.

I don't like delaying the granary in Lakamha. That city in particular is terrible without it.

Turn 62

Superdeath's war chariot in the south has disappeared back toward his territory, so I think we're safe for now. He might pop up again in a couple more turns and force us to whip a Holkan out of Uxmal.

Now that the gold is mined, I wanted to start working it immediately, so I switched Chichen Itza from the copper to the gold. Delaying the warrior shouldn't matter for happiness since gold is connected.

After finishing the cow pasture I sent workers 1 and 3 to build that lakeside cottage 2N of Uxmal.
I'm planning to send one of them to start roading toward the southern city site next. The other will chop for Mayapan. I decided to chop both forests around Mayapan, so it can have a granary before growing to size 2. In my opinion 20h now is way better than 30h after Mathematics, and what better to chop than a granary?
To help Uxmal grow in 2t instead of 3, I was thinking of having it take the cow from Mayapan for 1 turn. Not sure if that's a good trade.

On T61 I accidentally hit the numpad 1 key and moved this settler for city 5 (Mayapan). This delayed settling by a turn. I decided it wasn't worth asking for a reload for, especially since I was already holding up the turn.

Civac, what do you think we should do with Chichen Itza next? I think we can grow Chichen all the way to 6 and then 2pop back down to the 4 good tiles. It can also slowbuild settlers or workers at size 4 pretty effectively I think. I feel whipping it below size4 doesn't make much sense because it has a gold mine and a copper mine to work. Thew capitol could take its deer back I guess.
We also need a workboat for Mayapan. Chichen Itza can do it, or Mayapan can do it after the Granary is chopped, but that's a bit slow.

For the island city, I guess we'll want a worker to pasture the sheep. That can probably be one of the workers who are currently chopping at Mayapan. I think that island city should take the clams from Lakhama for a short time. We'll have a cottage or two for Lakhama to work if necessary.
