Given the current group that have made it to the playoffs, it's not even particularly unlikely. It's slightly interesting the current group of high peace weight guys that advanced largely have military flavors. They're sort of the HPW versions of someone very bland but solid like ... Qin or someone. Elizabeth types are more likely to blow a game completely out of the water or die on turn 100. Maybe the saying should be "XX/Alive is the best trait combo."
Man, I actually like the seeded leaders this time. Which should be all the reason you need not to vote for them

Next AI survivor should give the AI's back all the 6 possible starting techs, not the civ default ones. Doing so would make each game less map-dependent. I think Stalin's decline in performance can be attributed to that.

That would be a pretty interesting change. It would make the game a lot more about the personality of a given leader, than the techs (not sure if this is good or bad, but I think I like it). It would probably nerf Creative significantly, since everyone could build monuments instantly. Maybe would buff charismatic too, since those leaders would actually build their monuments (e.g. Cyrus_De Gaulle both didn't for ages, last game).
Dang, I know the AIs in this upcoming game aren't successful in Survivor but they are some really solid AIs. I could literally pick any of them except Monty because the tech pace is going to be ridiculous. Even if he snowballs off 1 AI I don't see him keeping up.
Any one of them wouldn't half surprise me if they won the entire season. And yes I include WK because his reputation is entirely a schtick, he's no more ridiculous than any other AI. He's a solid AI and friggen financial. (June 23rd, 2021, 22:53)GeneralKilCavalry Wrote: Next AI survivor should give the AI's back all the 6 possible starting techs, not the civ default ones. Eh, we've had the "real" starting techs since Season 4 and Stalin made it to the championship in that season - which means that nearly half of his AI Survivor success has been under that format.
On paper most of the AIs for Game 8 are pretty good, though Victoria has a strong claim to Worst Competitor in AI Survivor History if she doesn't manage to score some points in it. In practice though, Hannibal has zero non-capital food until IW (for one rice) and IW + Calendar for the rest, Zara has no copper, lots of jungle, and a Monty problem, and Justinian is playing with a very weak UB and no UU unless someone trades him horses or he conquers Zara's source. I'm betting on Monty because I think the standard madman gambit might actually work here, but Wang will be dangerous if his central start doesn't cause him to get embroiled in endless conflicts, and Darius should have a strong showing if he can avoid the temptation to stall out on like five cities and then build nothing but infrastructure.
