Progress check on Colossus:

Forge ready soon. Colossus will be faster than "12 turns" shown. We could also add a chop, but I prefer building a lumbermill.
Maybe it's not worth the risk of losing the wonder though.

SD is building something. High production makes me think wonder modifiers, but could also be war chariot rushing someone.

Wonder modifiers, or any conditional modifiers, do not show up on the mfg chart, only things like forges, factories, and bureaucracy.

Thanks. Very weird how he's that much ahead from everyone else. Oh, maybe a Golden Age.

Colossus was built by Mjmd. We were way late on it. He is industrious though, which helps with both the forge pre-req and the wonder.

Overview, with a new city Lappland on the NE island.

Next settler is heading over here. I think the hill is worth it for defensive purposes.
We may settle a more vulnerable city for one of the gems. Basically one that we might have to sacrifice if push comes to shove.

SD wants me to stop trading with Amica, but he is my Silver source, so no.

We finished Currency and got second trade routes in every city. With 9 cities that's about +18 GPT.

Amiya was settled and we will finally research Agriculture to farm the corn.
We can see Civac's borders to the SE. Our scout also found SD's borders to the NW. By PoE, Amica is S of us.
I like how the map gives access to all other civs. There won't be a situation where a run-off is on the other side of the world and we can't do anything about it.

We're keeping up with the pack despite the weird opening. A few players do have key wonders though.
Code of Laws is the current plan for next tech.

Not much to report. Code of Laws is done soon. Settlers are being produced to fill the rest of our land. I reckon the game will get spicy soon though as borders start clashing.

I think it could be fun to go CS and Machinery after CoL smile

Change of plans. Happiness is a problem, so we will go IW and Calendar first. Rome will hopefully attack one of his other neighbors  please

Saria was founded next to the oasis. Two more cities settled in the next two turns on the N coast. One finally grabbing the extra gold. That was delayed for too long.
We got a free religion spread.. of Confucianism. Which now is in as many cities as Buddhism. Second mistake of the game: Relying too much on natural religion spread. I'm building missionaries now.

Mjmd is poking the bear:

I feel like grabbing gems myself to be honest. Only so many workers and settlers I can build until they start going to waste.

Gold will give +1 happiness, Forges +2 and Calendar resources +2. Just need to get over this hump. Gems would add +1 to all cities and another +1 to Forge cities.

New cities Jaye and Hoshiguma:

Also in picture: Our main source of iron in the jungle. There are two others we've got in our BFC's at each border.
Also in picture: Lazteuq got the 'mids.

I sent the new settler for this spot. I think grabbing these gems will anger GKC less than the other ones.

Whipped 3 Forges. This was a good turn.

We can build some garrison axes while growing back from the forge whips. Capital is on permanent missionary duty until all cities are converted.
Gold is connected for an extra happiness. Hoshiguma is working it until it builds a trading post so it can grow on water tiles. Just filler city things smoke
Next turn we turn on tech to 3T Calendar. Could get it a turn earlier, but we need the extra turn to grow borders to the dyes tile and clear jungle from the sugar tile.
