I settled Charriu border city last turn, but was waiting to name until I had access to my list. This isn't really a shanty, but I actually found it today. I'm not positive if it will be a canal city, but seems likely, so song sneaks in (also with jungle its kind of dirty in unhealthiness sense) . Also, unless I win this thing I have enough songs for another pitboss......
Question. I thoughts whips were 30h, 30h, 20h ect (1, 2, 3 pop ect). I have a forge I can 3 pop whip at 33/120? Bug or I'm missing something? I'm going to assume I'm stupid and whip before I go to bed, if a lurker can let me know in next 2 hours I would appreciate.
Anyways, VICTORY. ROYAL OAK WAS OUR SHIP OF NAME!!!!!!! Lost 5 axes to kill 5 units on a hill with walls. I'll take that Won two 30%s and lost a 70%, so very slightly lucky.

RtR mod implemented diminishing hammers from additional slavery pop points whipped, CtH has the vanilla rule where each pop is worth 30 base hammers.

Ramk also went for Metal Casting instead of construction first (I believe). First Ramk Trireme on the scene, but I should have him outnumbered. I thought about going construction first and ramming my stack down his throat, but I'm not that brave.

Ramk made a plan where I got screwed over for moving my galleys after my trireme and into the worst spot. I of course obliged....... I then maybe made a bad decision worse by taking my 32% shots. Got one of his galleys to 5 health, but no joy. I still have 4 galleys so enough to move troops around / soon cats to take these islands.
The more important thing is of course that GKC decided to intervene on my poor behalf. IE he failed to make grounds against Laz and had a bunch of keshiks hanging around. Proving that it never hurts to ask. I didn't think he would go along with it, but hes doing what he should have done 25 turns ago. I should have asked him immediately after his laz war, but I didn't for a couple turns until he asked for open borders and I went "oh ya GKC maybe?". To note he has a larger military than me, it probably isn't a large portion navy, and I don't have a lot of spears. Something to fix in between cats. I've started chopping my forests at Jack and Donkey (my two forge cities). Give a nice influx of promoted units.

Another day. Another city raze I could have prevented. I was a little worried Ramks commando galley was hiding near Charriu / Laz SE of that whale. Did I ever check. Nope. He razed RollingDown, which 100% could have had an axe + spear instead of just a spear. For some reason I put 3 units on Royal Oak even though I had ships swarming that area that could have easily reinforced.
He also built a galley that is threatening WorstOldShip. I had actually moved those units out, so the 2 I dropped off have no fortify (axe/spear that had been there just loaded on a galley). I put the odds of him building a galley there really low, but shows what I know. Of course I have a 2nd axe that will be a turn short.
Only good news is I have a good shot of taking Kumtag in 2 turns. He whipped a walls there. Next turn I drop off 4 more units for 8 total. It looks like he is moving the 2 units that were in Sanora, but assuming he loads this turn, drops off next turn, that would put his ships in danger.
I also get to start producing cats next turn. I have to produce a settler out of Jack though to replace RollingDown.

Good news bad news
Good news: took his peninsula corn city. Lost 2 axes to kill 2 axes and a spear. Came with a granary; I should have known my luck was all out when I saw that.
Bad news Ramk continues to be a lucky son of a *#&@. I also continue to be an idiot. I had 6 axes and 2 chariots outside of his horse island vs 2 archer, 1 axe, 1 char. He attacked out with his combat I chariot vs mine for 50% odds. Won (of course). So I had 7 units to attack. I ran vodka and I had odds, so I went in. Lost vs his combat II axe, but did good damage. Then had a flawless victory by his city garrison II archer (I think I forgot to promote to city raider......). Reran Vodka. Right around 50% chance of taking. But as long as I did enough casualties I can very likely take the next turn. Decide to go for it. Send in axe vs city garrison II and do about half damage. About same odds. Chariot vs archer, lost but good damage. Now I have 3 attackers vs 4 defenders, but I have pure odds from here............... We know how Ramk runs. I lost a 60% and 65%. If I win either I can likely take next turn. I did win 1 battle vs the chariot...... But ya literally winning any of the low odds fights or 1 or both of the actual have odds fights. Some rough math puts this outcome at 9% of the time. So literally 90% of the time it works.
I'm kicking myself for not waiting for amphibious attacks, but I ran with odds. Also kicking myself for you know forgetting to promote 1 unit . Seriously why didn't I wait? I might still be able to take next turn, but now will probably cost me more units. Talk about a pyrrhic victory. I also think with charismatic he likely has promotions that will make that unlikely. At this point I might just down and wait for new cats.
He could also potentially reinforce. He actually did build 3 total triremes (that I know of). He traded off so now has 1.5 vs my 3.
On the inner sea he probably has 2 units about his GG galley now? He used other galley as sacrifice to punch through my blockade. He still doesn't get odds, but odds don't seem to be Ramks weak suit.

Yep he reinforced with a city raider III axe and got promos to heal. Should have waited. I've made a lot of mistakes that game, but that one is up there. Does it break top 5 this game? Eh. Certainly my worse war waged ever (and that includes my first game vs SD!)
His 5 move galley is threatening some GKC cities now (after I cordoned off). Mainly glad he didn't go for Boots.
Meanwhile I'm building cats and marshaling forces.

Bloody frickin hell.
Ramk split GG between 2 triremes. I only knew of the one combat 4 one. I wasn't aware of the 4 move one so it sank a galley loaded with an axe and a spear that was also blocking his fish nets. I think he is also loading his injured galley with reinforcing units for Barrets. Combat 4 trireme did win its 75% shot vs my trireme up on iron island. I pillaged the nets there with my extra and moved away. I also have triremes coming in from other direction now.
Also, of course his inner movement galley was fully loaded and unloaded next to royal oak the one turn I don't have units in range to reinforce. I should have foreseen and 1 pop whipped the axe there last turn (he could see my galleys unloading on his other city there). Totally avoidable 85% chance to lose.
Edit: I was also an idiot near barrets. I bombarded with 1 cat I had there. I should have moved stack 1 s because that is only spot I could onload and move galleys to be protected. So now I had to split up my stack on the island.

Ya 100% avoidable city raze (again) sigh. I started replacement settler in grog already last turn.
The movement trireme was just a good play. It then killing my galley which probably shouldn't have been where it was killing my only spear was unfortunate...... Me bombarding with a random cat. Mistake. His galley of course got to pick up 2 chariots, which I now didn't have a spear to counter and he destroyed my mini stack for free. At this point I'm just pillaging nets to be move efficient with my naval units so they aren't in set places all the time, even though I'll probably still retake barrets in 3 turns.
Edit: I did reinforce outside Barrets with a spear this turn, so yes he hit that mini stack the 1 turn he could have.
I also should have sent 1 more cat to Jaz Murian in hind site. Probably still fine.
Charriu joined in the fun to snipe an island or something probably.

I was afraid of this and should have signaled GKC last turn to stay at war. He made peace with Ramk.
Meanwhile I retook Barrets and am going to take Jaz Murian next turn. He will probably take a 75% shot with his gg trireme again this turn and cover with his 4 mover. Hopefully he is capable of losing something above 50%. Luckily most of Ramks forces mainland are spears, which I do have elephants now, but I still care very little about. He does have cats, which I care more about.
Charriu is still at war atm. He doesn't look to be building up. It looks like he went machinery (has crossbows) pre construction.
In the meantime Mig has knights and had a huge power spike. He declared on Donovan instead of poor me (to be fair I have a strong navy and ferrying units that far would be a pain pre galleons).
In other fun things I guessed wrong on which tile the iron was on on my island. /shrug
Edit: Charriu logged in and gave Ramk peace as well. Didn't even try to take the 2 workers on island he took.
