[PB60] Lurking the Final Frontier

lol

Player paranoia about Lurker Thread spam is always entertaining.

Has anyone watched anything good on Netflix recently?

One of my favorite novels.

When I first read it I stayed up all night reading it. Once finished I went straight back to page one and started from scratch. An amazingly imaginative book.

I stole it from Babylon 5 (John Sheriden specifically, though his version didn't have the profanity).  Given that I associate the name "Alfred Bester" with a certain notorious Psi Cop, I think it's a fair bet that JMS was a fan. smile

Oh my, yes.

Things do look to be heating up a bit as the empty land gets filled up, I wish GKC reported more so we could see how many units are actually in his build queues.

Woohoo my first induction of paranoia into a player's head. My mother would be so proud!

The original quote, presumably referenced by both of the above, was indeed "Millions for defense, but not one cent for tribute." It's from Robert Goodloe Harper, then a member of Congress, expressing popular U.S. sentiment toward French demands in the "XYZ affair" at the end of the 19th century. (Yes, almost two and a quarter centuries ago.)

This is extremely important information to hopefully help teach players not to attempt to read the game state from the number of posts in the lurker thread!

The important question is, when will this paranoia affect the other players, too. rolf

As an aside: Is anyone up for a game of Werewolf in this thread?

GKC gave us a glimpse of what he's got coming, but it looks like he might not know that he can reach Jowy to the north as well? Very puzzling that he hasn't scouted "his" one-tile inner sea island either.
