[PB61 spoilers] vanrober lonely in a green field

Turn 16
The bear died! But the scout almost die too. It was 1 hit more and it would be died. Not much luck i guess, it was 23% odds for him and almost kill my unit. The plan for the capitol right now is finish this scout nexzt turn, then make a second settler, then 2 warriors to get to size 4 and then get a couple of settlers out. I was whiping but growing back with warriors seems too odd for me, and without granary is not as worth as without so i might just slow build them and whip a granary out.

   

I got the capitol at size 2, another guy more has it at size 3 and there is 4 people with the size 1 still. I guess they will need 1 more turn to get to size 2.

Turn 17

Moving the second scout south towards the fogged coast, the other scout needs at least 5 turns to have a decent HP to keep moving

Demos doesnt change much

The rest of the civilizations raised 2 pop, or at least 2 more.

Turn 18 and 19

moving the scout towards the sout and a damn lion on the spot i wanted to check. So i decided to put the scout on the forest to get more odds. It will slow a bit the exploration but hopefully it will be fine!

The bad part of this healing needs is that we are not getting any KTB by knowing neighbours and also not getting any EPs, i really hope they find me soon.

       

We are top hammers right now, wich usually doesnt mean nothing good, since you usually want to max food. But somehow in this case it was better to get the ivory online before the corn and deer, at least acording with my sims. the max food guy has 17 and 4 pop on his capitol, he can really get a lot of settlers and workers going out fast.

Do i explain that bad?  duh

Lets try it again. My plan for the capitol micro has been the following: First worker that took 10 turns, then scout that took 8 more, then another worker for 6 turns and then 2 warriors for 3 turns each, then the capitol get to 4 pop, and i get a settler, i have to decide whether i whip it or not, im still unsure since growing back the capitol with just warriors seems so akward for me. If i slow build that worker i can slow build anotherone and get that done faster than the other way around. Whiping without granary is not as effective so i think im leaning against the whip.
In one of my previous sims i was growing back the capitol building SH, and that would be a nice way of making at least fail gold, when i get to 4 pop again i get either another settler or another worker. But as i say i think thats too slow for me. In any case all this micro can be different once i get the copper revealed in 7-8 turns.

So if your question was more, why did you get 2 scouts out, my thiking was the following, I didnt met anybody ,and noody knows where i am, if people is where i supose them to be they would need 15 turns to come with a warrior, and if they builded one after the worker and would try to rush it, lets say 3 turns warrior, that would mean turn 13, and then another 15 turns going blind in the fog, that would be turn 28 and by that turn i will have already a warrior. Well, there is some risk if someone didnt go worker first and tried to be sneaky with a warrior, but i still dont know anybody and going crazy witha  warrior into dthe fog doesnt sound like very probably on my mind. If this makes sense.

Feel free to ask me anything else and even more if this lenguage gap makes me think i did something i didnt xD

I know that you've simmed it out, but that seems like a rather late settler? I find that multiple warriors are quite useful early with barbarians on; later on they will make for good MP in your non-border cities.

I know its rather late second city, but with the FoodHammers i have right now its not really usefull to make the settler now on my sims, thats why i think im going to spam cities afterwards, so i get a late secondcity but early third one. 

The need of fising/ wheel for all the second cities ive find has made a really bad decision to get india. I kind of regret all the early decisions i made XD. 

The scout as second unit instead of warrior is because i didnt find any neighbour and i have so much land still to scout i feel like getting more KTB and map knowledge was better than a warrior fogbusting on monarch dificulty.

We will  se after game if i could do something better, that ofc i would

Turn 20

The second scout won vs the lion, 0,6 hp left so i moved it. I ll probably heal him up a bit. He discovered another fish down there. It will be a decent filler, but i wont rush to make a tundra city.

   

Demos didnt change. I will  sim a bit more about the whiping of the capitol although i think i wont

I looked at it a bit closer.

If i go straight slowbuilding settlers choping 2 forest i would get second city at turn 37 and without whiping the second settler the third city would be done at turn 40 in the plainshill of the marble. Capitol would be size 4 without whipìng anger and able to make worker in 3 turns, warrior in 1 turn and 2 turn axe in case i get copper already done. The settler of the third city would be out at turn 39 so i could put already 1 turn of anything ont he capitol.

If i whip the first settler i would get second city on turn 35 and the third on 39 at turn 40 the capitol would be at size 3 finishing a warrrior. It would need 2 turns more to be at size 4 and be able to 3 turns workers and things like that.

So what is worth? i am leaning to the second option right now. I ve read somewhere that it is not that important to settle fast the second city, the importat thing is to make food hammers going as much as possible. And trying to work as many improved tiles as possible. I think with this start i would do so and also having 2 cities conected before settling, which is good in terms of gold, also in terms of defense for the damn barbs.

Turn 21

I want to add that i thought during my sims to settle on top of the stone. Not sure if i said before, its a good option since making a quarry of desert stone is so time wasting, so if i settle on top of it i would not have that problem, also i might get 2 hammers on the city as if it were plainshill, and that would mean i destroy a desert too.

   

So demos changed a bit, someone got a bit more hammers than me getting 3 pop. Which is fine, im going slow, but hopefully im going to get in time afterwards.
