He can move 8 chariots within striking distance of Assabiyah next turn, or 6 within striking distance of Mouse Utopia. That's tolerable but maybe there'll be so many he will be able to raid while my spearmen can't kill them quickly enough in sallies. Ignore the spearman in Assabiyah, I think I will switch that back to an axeman, since the spearman can still be trained in 6 turns when he is shipped anyway. Even against all these chariots, and axeman has some use. I will use the settler into Assabiyah as a confidence signal, since nowhere is safe to settle anyway. Also the workers will move there incase he launches a mostly failed attack and a swift-built road is necessary to catch up to them. Attacking a hill with a 2 movement point unit leaves you with 1 movement point afterwards if there's more defenders in place after the battle, right? Also, I sent Vanrober an "attack Mali" diplo offer, since his scout can see Mali has a chariot on my turf. The score graphs show I'm the player with the second biggest army, and that Mali is only ahead in terms of food, not other metrics.
11 chariots on turn 53 is really something. Really tempted to do a sally this turn using road-building, but at this point, it's probably just as well to have all these lurking units draining his treasury. I can mass for longer as my units are more slot-efficient than chariots.
10 chariots now; caught one. moving troops out to build a road to my next town. Will be settling in a warzone. Have to get onto the intended hill first, because he has three skirmishers lurking now.
Finally remembered to chop forests for hammers, also have been abusing my cap a bit too much - it's unhappy on 4 pop. Might build a monument in response, due to Charismatic.
Killed two chariots when they moved next to my capital - there's now 9 chariots and 6 skirmishers on the field. I was expecting an axeman second wave, but skirmishers also somewhat vindicates my axeman production switch. As does the fact that you don't need THAT many spearmen to hold off chariots. This is the first turn that he's moved in for the kill in any sense, I have every point sufficiently guarded however.
