Every city still increases your civic costs though as ORG that's kinda trivial too.

I thought the conqueror's plateao was father than 20 cities that i ll have i thought it was around 30 or so.

This made me look up the formula (hoping t's still up to date) from where I now learned that civic upkeep does depend not only on population but also number of cities, thanks.
I'll also concede that the fillers will likely be a lot less useful on this map than say PB59 with its near unlimited intercontinental routes.

And about the worker do you know it? Idont want to waste a HA there since i wouldnt be able to atack, but i would spend a worker to avoid him working the pigs

@vanrober: Yeah, I don't think you have reached the conquerors plateau yet, 30 cities sounds about right. You can check by mousing over the maintenance cost in a size 1 city if you have one. You have reached the plateau when maintenance from number of cities is 7 (for Emperor) on size 1.

Don't know about the worker.

As I said, I'm too lazy to look up the formula,* but it should depend on the map size setting, and also I think it's no hard limit, since a city's number of cities maintenance also depends on the city's population. You'll just get to a point where most of your cities will be at the cap.

*if this were correct, the hard limit should be at ceil(8/0.6*2)=27 cities independent on difficulty and map size - but my PB 59 sandbox tells me that that isn't the case at all, starting with the fact that in PB59 the cap is 7. The link in turn links to an old PDF that apparently uses outdated numbers and more importantly says nothing about the cap. So, anybody care to enlighten?

I have 3 cities 1 pop, ill check it if josh finish his turn... he has been 1h and half ingame. But i think the max total maintenance i have is 8gpt on cost, so i guess im far from having 7gpt city amount of cost.

As for the civic costs I tested this and it's correct.

NumOfCitiesMaintenance=
100 x (CityPop + 17)/18) x WorldSize_M/100 x Handicap_M/100 x NumOfCities)/100

WorldSize_M = 30 (Standard) or 25 (Large)
Handicap_M = 90 (Emperor)

So for a size 1 city to reach the conqueror's plateu requires 26 cities on Standard map size or 32 cities on Large map size.

Thanks a lot, that is far better indeed. Your other civforum link is linking to my fanatics link though neenerneener 

But I think PB61 has Monarch difficulty, so the hard conquerors plateau should be ceil(6/.3/.85) = 24 cities, so vanrober should be pretty close to that. Otoh I guess on this map with weak TRs the fillers will not be as immediately useful.

Turn 119

It makes sense that i need 26 cities, right now there is difference. Look at this:

   

I am being really sold on the 1w city, it will make the border with bellarch good enough not to be any atack between us and also it will buffer some defense in case of atack giving me time to retreat towards the core. 

In the Jesse front, he pulled a spear this turn, and thats a bit annoying it forced me to drywhip an axe in frankfourt. josh is sending a couple of chariots towards me, which might mean bad things, so just in case i sent him fish fish, i didnt push any further into jesse not to annoy him, this turn im finishing a xbow in Marygold and he has vision of that city, so i hope that helps him to see me with loving eyes.
Also, ive simmed and if he doesnt get anything else i get the city in 2 turns in a 95% odds, if he put another archer it would be still a 70 %, if he put a spear it will be more costly but i think i should get the city either way.

   

Talking about atacks, i saw the stack of Jack, not really big but its clear he is slowbuilding, i warned belalrch and bing.

   

Into the EPs, jack and josha re putting Eps on me, not sure if to see my demos or to steal my tech vision, but im spliting my Eps in them both, they will se my graphs of 2 turs ago, that werent as nice as this turn.... Im first in everything already (worked a spy to not be ahead on food), i have been wondering if i should whip cities to hide my food and production and look worse than i am... Jack is getting 135gpt at 0%, when i get 95, his economy is much better than mine, 40gpt is a huge amount, even more if he has no shrine! I need to get more cottages going and some more courthouses to start feeling safer in economy.
